I was browsing the internet looking for a reputable grant company to obtain an application for a grant.  I was going to try to fill it out myself.  I did not intend to enroll in a monthly program at this time.

I was hoping that with a grant I would have the 10% down payment that is now required for businesses to buy real estate.  Since my husband died two years ago, I wanted to carry on the the business he formed and since then, the government changed the rules for small businesses.

I thought that for $1.98 I could get the CD, see what the application entailed, what the monthly program was about, then decide.  When I saw my bank statement, WOW!  There was a $34 NSF charge and I was $66.58 overdrawn! How can that be when there was $46.85 in my accout and I authorized $1.98 for a CD?  I called the fraud department at the bank immediately of course and was told that I had to call The Grant Express and get a cancellation number, which they give me of 85C2B.

I then called the fraud department back with that number. When The Grant Express credits my account, the bank will then credit the $34 NSF charge.  The bank then gives me a claim number of C20090831182641.  If The Grant Express does not credit my account within the 3-5 days as promised, I am to call the bank back and they further their investigation.

As of this date, 9-2-09, this company does not have a state corporation license and they do not have a ficticitious firm name.  They are doing business without a license.  I feel like a fool for not checking before giving my credit card number out.  I should know better than this.  I am tying to run a corporation here. I'm afraid I'm in for a long ride here.
