Deal-stop.com Sells Falsely Advertised Item And Then Expects Customer To Pay For Shipping! ripoff Salon Ohio
I did a froogle search on an Intel D845WN motherboard and it took me to deal-stop.com where the description of the motherboard deal-stop was selling said "The Intel desktop board D845WN delivers new platform options..." right beside a picture of the corresponding motherboard (it clearly showed 3 ram slots in the picture and it was very clearly a picture of an Intel D845WN motherboard). Carefully studying the picture and looking at the description several times to confirm that it was indeed the motherboard I wanted I clicked on add to my shopping cart and quickly proceeded to checkout. When I received the motherboard I opened the box and immediately knew that I had the wrong motherboard (among the many differences the one I received only had 2 slots for ram). I called the company and they politely told me I had ordered a D845EBG2 and that they would be glad to give me an RMA# but that I would have to pay a 20% restocking fee + shipping and handling. I told them that I would get back with them. I went online to see what had happened and indeed the title and the product specifications did say it was an Intel D845EBG2 but the product description said it was an Intel D845WN and the photo was that of an Intel D845WN! When calling back and telling them of the problem they still wanted me to pay for the shipping + handling despite their false advertisement. They have taken away the description off their website but they still have the wrong picture in there (I don't mean a picture of another motherboard with the same model #, but a picture of a totally different looking motherboard with a different model #). I would never have ordered this product if they hadn't had the wrong product name in the description or the wrong photo. Why should I have to pay for the shipping and handling on the order?

I experienced something very similar with this company. I had a horrific experience and am currently fighting over $500 they are trying to dump on me for their failure to send correct parts and to send merchandise as promised. I have filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau, Federal Trade Commission, my credit card company, and will continue to escalate this if I have to. This company - which I would go so far as to accuse of commiting fraud - yes, fraud - needs to be called out and slammed shut. Period.
