Dealer Services Due to the nature of this program, we can only authorize your vehicle for 72 hours from the receipt of this notice St. Louis Missouri
I recieved a letter from Dealer Services offering me an extended warranty on my vehicle. I called 1-800-607-6695 and spoke with Anita at ext 8594 on 9/29/08. She was very courteous and persuasive. She did not know my vehicle type, even though it was correctly listed on the letter I received. She offered me "full comprehensive" coverage for 4 years or 60,000 miles for $3,580.
When I stated I would need to speak with my wife before giving her a down payment now of $395 then $265/mo for 12 months..she immediately had me hold while she "spoke with her supervisor". She then came back with a "Low Mileage Program" offer.
This consisted of the same coverage for $2,980...$150 down and $117/mo for 24 months. She then became more agressive..trying to talk me into the down payment right now without consulting my spouse. She stated she could not hold the offer beyond that day because of "abusers" of the program that have tried to take advantage of their company in the past.
I finally got off the phone with Anita by promising to call her back within three days. I told her I was feeling uncomfortable with her "arm twisting" tactics but she assured me that wasn't the case with her.
I basically just wanted to buy myself some time to check this company out online. And from all that I've found, I'm very glad I check Dealer Services out before I gave them any financial information.
Also, My letter was signed by Kent Finley-Senior V.P.
I hope other consumers read this before they are taken advantage of. Sounds like I just got lucky. :)
