I received a post card from Dealer Warranty Services last August, and believed them that my warranty was expiring. The car was only a 2003! I paid $295 for the first payment and $140/month after that up until January when my car needed to go into the shop and I found out that this whole time I been paying for no such warranty.

My dealership said that they do not honor this warranty because they never pay them, so if anyone has it we have to pay cash up front and fight to get reimbursed. Then they told me that my factory warranty did expire for another 8 months, so everything was covered anyways. But that was not the point.

I called Dealer Warranty Services to confront them about the situation and they stated that every dealership does so honor their warranty and they would never not pay any of their bills. I then asked her how come they sent me a post card stating my warranty expired in 8/2007 when it didn't expire until 8/2008, and she couldn't give me a reason. So I told her to cancel the service and refund my credit card for all the charges.

Two months later I contacted them because I still hadn't see a refund and the woman told me that I was not due a refund because I drove over the mileage of the prorated refund chart. I hadn't even gone 500 miles since I started to pay them. So I told her I wanted a to speak to a manager and she hung up on me.

To try to go to court with this it would probably cost more than the $800 I paid into them with filing fees and missing work hours. That is how they get you because they hope that you won't bother with fighting them to get your money back.

So please stand clear of this so call Dealer Warranty Services. Also, within the last week I have received numerous call on my cell phone from a "General Warranty Services" who says that they are not the same as Dealer Warranty Services. First I asked them how they got my number when my car is in my father's name then I asked them to remove my number from their list but they are still calling 10 times a day. Please be careful, call your dealership before purchasing anything to get their advice!!!!! Thanks to all for having this web site so we can learn from our mistakes or learn before we decide what to do.
