Debbie Tallis Avoid this "Practitioner" Sidmouth England / Devon

I was considering having therapy with Debbie Tallis for my depression and anxiety, however I decided not to waste my money after doing some research.

None of her therapies such as “Gong Practitioner” are recommended by any significant medical organisation and my GP warned me that there have been cases of “rogue” practitioners exploiting naïve people by offering non-mainstream therapy.

Particularly worrying for me was her insinuation that she is or has been a barrister (see screen cap from website). According to the Bar Council Debbie Tallis has never held a Practising Certificate as a barrister of England and Wales. It is very disturbing that this “status” is being used by her to drum up business from vulnerable people.

I feel relieved that I haven’t given money to this so-called “barrister”. I recommend anyone who deals with any sort of practitioner to exercise similar care as I have.

I have been made out to be a fraud by falsely claiming to be a barrister.

I was called to the Bar (Gray's Inn) in October 2008 and have a certificate stating that I am a barrister.  As my website makes clear, I have never practised as a barrister.

I have never claimed to be able to 'treat' any medical condition as although I have a PhD I am not a medical practitioner.  I work with people who want to change something in their lives.

Deborah Tallis's website does not claim that she ever practised as a barrister.

Under qualifications, she states: "LLB: A degree in Law. I was called to the bar as a barrister."

She also states: "At this time I realised I was very unlikely to practise as a Barrister".

She has a certificate issued by Anthony Faith, Under-Treasurer of The Honourable Society of Gray's Inn, stating that she "was called to the Degree of an Utter Barrister" (i.e. called to the Bar) on 9th October 2008.
