Debt Free After All was paid by us for over 3 years and at first everything went well then we started noticing discrepancies in their statement and sometimes we would go for 3 or 4 months without a statement.  Finally an account with Sears that was supposed to be paid off came up again when we received a garnishment notice.  We then received a letter from DFAA in Manchester, MO transferring our account to their New York office.  We finally got them to give us our escrow money but we later received another attorney letter on another account that was not paid off.

We wrote the atty general of new york and they sent us a reply from Global Solutions.  We received an undeliverable letter today that we had sent to Debt Free After All.  I guess they have closed their operations in New York.  We did received a letter from the atty general of new york with a reply from global solutions of new york.  I guess they have started a new rip off company now.  We are unable to contact Mike Weber or his new company about our unpaid accounts.  Lord knows what other accounts that we have that were supposed to be paid off.

I'm sorry you didn't have the same satisfying experience with GCS that I had.  I used them for two debt situations and was satisfied and paid off the debt in a short amount of time.  I did have to contact them on occasion because I notice they were taking out more money from my checking account than we had agreed to.  However, they were very courteous and responsive and changed the amount.

They were forthcoming about the amount of money they had taken from my checking and told me that after the debt is paid off, I will receive a refund of any funds that were left in my account.  They were on the money and immediately notified me right after the last payment to the bank was made and advised me of the amount of money that was left in my account and then had it credited back to my bank account promptly. I have to say that for me the company worked well and provided me with the discipline that I needed to make payments and adhere to our agreement for an amount that was much less than the creditor originally was seeking after all the finance charges, etc.

I suggest to anyone that you have to check into any company berfore you give any money or make agreements.  You should have a full understanding of what it is you are doing, who the people are involved, the contact information, the terms of the agreement, etc.  It took me a lot less time to be out of debt than it would have taken me by myself and Iwon't ever get into debt again.

For those of you who do not know already, when a credit card company or bank makes a deal with you to pay less than owed, you will receive a statement to that effect and you have to pay tax on it when you do your income tax returns.  Beats being in debt.
