Debt Recovery Solutions is a company that lacks all ethics and morality. While in Undergraduate I had gotten a cell phone bill of 567.70 that my mother refused to pay. The bill then became a collection that appeared on my credit report. I owed Sprint PCS 567.70 and it was my intention to resolve the debt. I received several letters from Debt Recovery Solutions and finally they offered a settlement. I paid 50% of the balance and it was to be removed from my credit. I was unaware of their shady dealings and I failed to keep any paper copies of my payments to this company. So somehow; Debt Recovery Solutions then sold my "settled account" to Collection Company of America in March 2006. How is it that they were able to sell an account that had been settled with them since 2004?

Upon reaching out to DRS for resolution I was greeted with poor manners, hang-ups, condescending attitudes and nothing short of rudeness. I then reached out to the Credit Collectio nCompany of America aka EOSCCA and they indicated that they needed a letter confirming receipt of payment by DRS before they can remove the balance from my account. I actually think these companies are working in cahoots. Because the old balance that had been settled was 567.70 it seems that EOSCCA has tacked on fees and penalties so as not to alert the bureaus that the balances are seemingly congruent. They now have that I owe $897. This ordeal is effecting my credit and my ability to refinance my home. This debt is costing me time and money and it needs to be stopped. How dare these companies manipulate Americans and tarnish people's credit in this Capitalist country. I am going to pursue this with every ounce of me until it is resolved and so that it doesnt effect others.

i would begin by filing a complaint with the state they are located and your state.

Now your credit reports may prove that the statute of limitation may have expired

and they can not collect.  Any previous credit reports may prove how long the debt

has been on the report.  search for anything that proves payments.  get yourself a free

credit report thru Federal Trade Commission website.  Do use any other sites offering

free reports.  They are scams

Fight them never give them bank info.  don't pay them  file with ag office of your state

they will contact them and maybe they will back down.
