i was an employee of this company for several years, however wasnt in sales so have no bearing on the fact you were scammed. just to give the clients a little insight as to what is going on. as of may ( the tues after memorial day. the owner came in and had a meeting with the people to say he was sorry the company was closing and they would be filing bankruptcy.so not only did they take 10% of our pay, due to what they call a reduction in force. so all the remaining clients as all of you that have posted a ripoff report- are due to a refund of your set aside balances and possibly your admin fees if no settlements were negotiated. all of the clients that read this report should file a complaint with the texas attorney . generals office ..here www.oag.state.txus/forms/cpd/print.php.
call and complain to them 512 463 2185 . the owner stated he had alot of money in the bank this would be called clients money . that you as a client are entitled to. when you call the 214-461-0051 # i know for a fact the receptionist is not telling the truth to these clients, i know this because i myself called the # and said i was a client and was told to call the 866-461-0752 # for client services .which there is none.so the voicemails are just building no telling how many by now. the clients have no idea what the truth is about this company. so before they file the papers for bankruptcy- you need to file with the ag of texas office and possibly even the fed trade commision, and maybe even your own personal lawyer here is the info and name of the CEO---Name: Debt Relief USA, Inc.

Government Actions

On September 9, 2008, the Idaho Department of Finance reached agreements with three out-of-state debt settlement companies. One of the companies was Texas-based Debt Relief USA, Inc. According to the Idaho Department of Finance, the companies "agreed to make refunds to Idaho consumers for unlicensed debt relief services in the combined amount of $373,867." Debt Relief USA, Inc. is responsible for the most significant amount of the settlement, "$201,829.35"
Director of the Idaho Department of Finance, Gavin Gee, said that, "the activities of each of the companies amounted to 'credit counseling,' which requires a license
BBB Definition:

license - A permit or accreditation required by the State, Province, County or Municipality where a company is located indicating competence or professional certification that allows the company to provide products or services related to their particular field or industry.
under Idaho law." The Director conducted a review of Debt Relief USA's activities. The Director alleged that Debt Relief USA violated the Idaho Collection Agency Act and Idaho Code section 26-2221. According to the agreement, "Between April 2005 and July 2007, (the company) contracted with one hundred twenty-nine (129) Idaho consumers (Debtor(s)) to perform certain debt relief activity on their behalf."
Idaho Code section 26-2223(1) requires that any person or entity acting as a collection agency, debt counselor, or credit counselor in Idaho must first obtain a permit to do so from the Department of Finance. Debt Relief USA did not obtain the necessary a permit. Pursuant to the agreement, Debt Relief USA agrees to repay the fees "extracted from its Idaho clients," by no later than November 3, 2008.

Karma,

My husband and I had an account at Debt Relief USA and I understand that we need to file a complaint and such, but is there anyway to obtain our information. Meaning, like what accounts were paid off and were not. Unfortunately, I didn't save any of my statements b/c I never dreamt something like this would happen and I've sent all of my collection bills into Debt Relief and didn't make copies. SO, I really have no idea of what was/wasn't paid and I really would just like a statement of all the activity, so I know who we still need to pay and how much of a refund I am due (not that I think I will ever see it). I have no idea if you can help me with any of this, but it's a shot. I'm just really frustrated that nobody even told us that the place closed down and I finally started researching this on the internet b/c the money wasn't taken out of my account this month. Can you provide any type of advice/assistance to me? I will have my husband try the personal cell numbers you provided for the pres and vice pres of the company, but I have a feeling that won't get us anywhere, just as the numerous calls we have made to Debt Relief have never been returned. Thank you!!

Sunny
