I had moved to Tennessee in March of 2000 and 3 months after moving there, my 91 Cavalier expired with a burp and a wheeze. I needed a car to get back and forth to work (don't we all?) and it had to be something reliable due to the fact my commute was just about 52 miles round trip. Enter Decatur Auto in Decatur, TN.

I looked at an 88 Cavalier RS 2.0L/5speed coupe on their lot. It was a 'cool' car as it was bright RED, striped, white letter tires, aluminum wheels and everything seemed to work. I paid $200 down and agreed to $240 a week until $1700 was paid off. Drove the off the lot &bring it back because there were no keys to the gascap. Had to break that off! I should've known that this was going to be the car from hell!

I had the car about two weeks and something went in the computer-sensor package. It wouldn't run, it would buck and skip and shudder. I took it back, asked that they fix it. They said ok, unplugged the MAP sensor and said it was fixed. After a bit of my own tinkering, I got the car driveable.

Then three days after that, three weeks after getting the car, I was heading into Dayton TN for dinner and a movie and the clutch went.

My roommates and I pushed the car home and that was it. I called the dealer to come and get the car... I was out almost $1000.
The money is gone, I'm back in New England and all I can say is, avoid Decatur Auto like the plague.
