Please folks if you have any choice at all, do not use Deffenbaugh for your trash service.

In 2008 there were 14 days that my dumpster was not emptied. I called the first few times it happened and was told that they would be out later that day or the next day. That was a lie. The trash was not dumped until the next scheduled day. After being lied to about this 4 different times I gave up on trying to call to report no service.

The next step was to attempt to get credit for the days trash was not picked up. What a joke! Everyone I talked to said they do not give credit for missed pick ups. This went on for a full year.

Finally when I refused to pay the bill and they discontinued service, I spoke with a lady in collections. She assured me that yes, I should receive credit for those missed pick ups. She also told me that it showed in my file that I had indeed called several times about this matter. I was given an extension and a womans' name (Leslie) to call. I called and left 5 different messages for Leslie. She never returned my calls. The 6th time I called I left a message saying I was cancelling my contract due to their lack of service and they needed to remove the dumpster.

The next week a man named Mike Wilson called me. At first he said there was no record of me ever calling about missed service. Then proceeded to tell me that legally they do not have to give credit when they miss a pick up! It wasn't until I mentioned speaking with my attorney that he said he would give me partial credit. He stated that since I had no proof the trash wasn't picked up he would give me credit for one week. Which is only two pick ups and that was not acceptable to me. I also complained about their driver not staying on the paved drive but instead driving thru the grass. He said they don't have to stay on the pavement!! So I informed him that when his driver broke the lines running from the septic tank the bill for repair would be sent to Deffenbaugh and it will go to court if necessay. He stated again that his drivers do not have to stay on the pavement.

Finally after much arguing on my part and his threatneing to sue me, he agreed to the credit I requested and also to negate my Jan 09 bill since the trash was only picked up once in Jan 09.

Feburary bill comes...no credit given at all. I call Mike Wilson back. He stated he went on vacation and no one else took care of my account and he would correct it immediately. March bill comes, no credit for January bill. I call Mike again and he denies saying the Jan bill would be negated!! So I informed him that I had recorded the conversation and asked if he would like me to play it for him. Immediately his tune changed and he agreed to have it taken off my account.

Deffenbaugh employs liars and ripoffs. So use any service other than theirs and save yourself some headaches.
