I purchased an adorable "Snorkie" (Schnauzer/Yorkie) from a woman whos "business" is called Delightfulpups and also goes by Delightfulpets.'

I received her (Taytor Bug) March 27th, 2006. She was very tiny, but she told me that she would only get to be about 4-5 pounds at the most when mature. She also had her siblings with her to deliver to "other owners". She (Taytor Bug) was 1 lb., her siblings were 3+ pounds. I asked if she was the runt, she said "no, just little". I fell in love with my little Taytor right away. When I held her, she didn't have any puppy fat on her. She was dirty, stinky, crusty eyes and seemed very scared of everything that was going on.

*Note: I asked where she was located and we (myself and mom) would pick her up. She diverted that by saying she had a delivery and had to pass by here anyway. So she had me meet her at a Pilot station.

Once I had her (pd $650) I stopped by the vets office to get eye drops. Her appt was for the following day. So, the following day I took her to the vet and she weighed in at 1 lb. Her tests all came up negative, but what ailed her doesn't show 100% of the time. It only rears its ugly head when shedding.

After the appt. I took her home and gave her food and nutrical. By the next day I was noticing she really didn't eat much at all. Once in a great while she would eat 2-3 bits of food. I didn't think anything of it, just assumed it had to do with change of home. But, she took to me very well. She wanted me to hold her all the time and cuddle. I would take her out to go to the bathroom, and she would put her tiny paw on my foot to let me know that she was done and she wanted up. (DOB 1/28/06)

After about 4 days, I really got worried and took her into the vet, she lost weight, but didn't find anything. Only did physical exam, not any testing. The following day she still wouldn't eat, so I took her to the vet (no appt) and they tried the a/d canned food to try and coax her to eat, but no interest at all. Then, she pooped on the counter. They used that for a fecal sample. ALAS!!!! Coccidia has shown it's nasty face. At this point she was down to 13oz. We started her on Albon right away. I contacted the seller a couple day earlier, and told her that she hasn't had an interest in food at all, she then made the remark to me that, "Yeah, she really didn't eat much here either".

That night she threw up. (Please note that I had been force feeding canned food a little bit throughout the day for sustinance, and nutrical) I called the vet on call, and she recommended that I don't feed or give her water for the night in hopes that will make her more aggressive towards food. No luck. I gave her the Albon, and about 10-15 minutes later she threw up. I took her back to the vet. She was down to 10oz. The vet did IV fluids as she was very dehydrated, gave her and antibiotic shot, and also gave me instructions on how to give my new little baby shots 3x a day to keep her from throwing up. I didn't think I could do it, but I would do anything to help her. I did it. I also (for the prior 2 days up to now and one more day), every 1 1/2 hrs had to give her nutrical/pedialite/karo syrup and I also had to administer an antibiotic 2x a day, injection 3x a day, Albon once a day and keep her on warm packs or keep her close for body heat.

On April 8, 2006 when I woke up for the last nutrical/pedialite/karo syrup run, Taytor was very lathargic. She couldn't hold up her own head. She couldn't stand. When I was trying to give her the pedialite, she let out a little whine and then she deficated all over herself and then started throwing up. I had my husband run her to the vet. Which had to be the one that was 20-25 min away because the one I usually take them to was working in Delevan that morning and it would've taken him more time to get here, than for us to go to their cooperating office.

He got her there and tested her sugar level, extremely low, body temp low. They gave her glucose, and then as they were trying to start an IV, for warm fluids to both warm her and hydrate her, she just couldn't hang on anymore. She died. She died weighing just 7 tenths of a pound.

I wrote Persis (Persis Schafer is the lady who I bought Taytor Bug from through www.delightfulpups.com) and told her what happened. She wouldn't give me a refund but would give me another puppy. I agreed to it.

I got ,who we now call Goofy, a puppy that was supposedly black. However, she looked gray she was so dirty. She had dried up feces stuck in her fur, crusty eyes. My gut instinct told me what was to come. I had her appt set up for that day. She had us meet her at a gas station 1 hr north of us, but supposedly "along the way for her next delivery". She avoided us meeting her at the "place of business".

I took her to the vet and they took a fecal sample and she tested positive for coccidia first time. Coincidence? THINK NOT!!! They are from different litters, different DOB. Goofy was born 1-30-06

She was put on Albon. By the way, we got her April 11, 2006. She has only been off Albon for one week since we have had her as the coccidia will not die. We have put a minimum $1,300 into Delightfulpups. I asked for at least a $400 refund on Taytor's purchase price, I wasn't asking for any vet expenses. Her response was, she would give me the $400, but she also wanted the puppy.

I couldn't send her back there. I can't imagine the illness that is being spread there. She was filthy, her kids were filthy, the van was filthy and stinky. It was just disgusting. Unfortunately, I didn't even think to get her license plate number. She doesn't have a home address, just a PO Box.

I am 99% sure she is running a puppy mill. I need help to shut her down. I don't have the money to do anymore searching, and once they are closed down, I know they will all need long term treatment, at least for coccidia. I can't imagine what else. You can see it in their eyes when you go to their website that they are not happy, healthy dogs.

Goofy didn't even know what grass was when we first got her. She was scared to death. It has taken a lot of work to earn her trust, and help her learn a lot of things. She still has yet to learn to come to her name, or even to come. I know it is a trust issue. We are getting there.

We are not done fighting the coccidia as of 5-10-06, but will not give up. What she has allowed these innocent little pups to suffer with is inexcuseable!! Our vet bill grows each week as we consistently have her feces tested, and then the meds. Thank you for any information you can add or help to shut them down.

Please be very careful getting puppies from her. She is not a broker for the amish. These are her puppies. I do beleive she is running a puppy mill. The first puppy I bought from her died from coccidia. (Please read first posting I have) The puppy I got from her as a "replacement" also came with coccidia, but has survived, but not without putting our expenses and vet bill over $2,000. We have finally overcome the coccidia, but it will be an ongoing thing to have her tested so we can keep her healthy.

These two puppies were from separate litters, on two separate birth dates. I do believe that all the puppies are infected with coccidia. It can be deadly if not caught in time, but if caught early enough, it is very easy to treat. She just never even took the time to test them, or the mom dogs (who they initially contracted it from).

I want to see these puppies get good loving homes. If you have the extra funds to treat the pup, negotiate the price. Buy the pup expecting illness. Maybe even negotiate a contract of your own so you are covered as her contract is double talk and you are not covered under anything. Have a vet appointment set up for that day and let the vet know what the circumstances are. Have the vet document EVERYTHING!!!! If the puppy is dirty, if it seems very timid, etc... You would be surprised how it will help you later if something happens. I wish I would have done all that now for Taytor Bug. Luckily she was so little you just fell in love with her instantly and she stuck in your heart.

The pup she gave me as a replacement, has taken a lot of money and a lot of work. She didn't know what grass was, she wouldn't budge on a leash, wouldn't go through doorways. Now, she is a little big baby. Took a lot of patience, love and work but, she is a wonderful little girl.
No animal deserves to be treated how they are with delightfulpups. They populate the dogs and that's all they do. They don't take care of the breeding dogs and make sure they are healthy.
I hope this helps, I will try to keep this updated.

Like I said, I want the innocent pups to have loving, caring homes, but be aware they are more than likely sick. Coccidia being one of the illnesses.
Thank you.

Rio, Wisconsin is another place they have listed as a place for their "business"

I wanted to make sure that all catch words are entered. Rio Wisconsin is another city that has been mentioned with their "business" so I wanted to be sure that it is here to catch any searchers.

Please be aware that they have their website "under construction" but am wondering if they are changing their name and going under a new alias. I will be updating when I find anything out. I will not allow anyone to adopt a sick puppy without prior knowledge.

I would love to see those pups get a loving home, and the only way is if you buy them. Just know that when you do buy them, that there is an extremely high (99%) chance that they are sick, either with coccidia or something else. Negotiate the price. I have spent over $2,000 combined on the pup the died and the pup that we have now, and GOOD NEWS.... we finally kicked the coccidia!!!! But it will be an ongoing process of screening for her through her life.

Please check back here for updates! my e mail is:
taytorbugspetboutiqueatyahoodotcom Sorry, I couldn't put the signs in or it wouldn't allow my e-mail. I hope this works

I want to thank you for that report. We almost bought a female pomeranian named emma from delightfulpups. My dad and I wanted to go up to the place she was breeding them to pick her up but she said she would meet us halfway. My dad was very persistent and made her give us her address. fortnantly my mom had a bad feeling and said "no" but unfortnantly later said yes.

We were going to have emma on friday and picked up at a oasis, me being the skeptical I kept wondering why she wanted to meet us only half way, kept calling my house for a week straight, and why she (emma) looked so depressed in her picture. Most pomeranians seem happy in their pictures or at ease considering they are cared for. She looked like a old tortured old stuck in a 14 week old body.

Suggestion goes out for anyone looking for animal and looks into breeders.1st Type in their name ( the breeder) and the state they are from you might find out what I was suspious of. 2nd actually look at the dog if they look unhappy or look extremely uncomfortable and unwell cared for, chances are they're not. I plan to contact PETA and anyone who will be able to shut her down. Leatrice is right in every sense and no one or animal should be subjected to that kind of treatment.

Delightfulpups has the most pitiful sad pups on the Internet

Leatrice, so sad you and probably many others are paying in heartbreak and with your pocketbooks over poorly cared for puppymill puppies. On the delightfulpups website they claim to broker for the Amish but no legitimate broker would rip a sick weak puppy away at less than 8 weeks of age and sell it weighing only a pound. My guess if that they raise these poor babies themselves.

When you do a WHOIS search on the website, the registrant name is just left with blanks. (----) like they're in hiding or too embarrassed to say who owns the website. They really probably don't want a humane society or county sheriff to come knocking at their door. They advertise on Puppyfind and also Nextdaypets. When they get a bad review on Puppyfind, they simply just delete it and wipe the slate clean. I remember one review that said, "Don't you realize that having your dogs look like they live on the street is not attractive?' I remember seeing cockapoos and others with inch long eye boogers hanging and also noses with discharge...like they were just yanked out of the cage and --snap--the picture was taken. No bath, no brushing, nothing. Just matted gunky hair. It's not surprising in person they had poop caked on them. That's not very good---how to make a good first impression:
Give customers a dog with poop crusted on them and charge them $650. DUH!!! Are they too lazy to even work for SOME of the money these poor dogs make for them? Can't they treat these puppies for coccidia themselves instead of giving a customer a dog that will possibly die if not treated? It would likely weaken the immune system and make it vulnerable to attack from disease.

I wonder if they ship these dogs in this condition--without a bath, poop and eye boogers crusted on after the customer pays an additional $250 to receive a pet carrier and furry thin mop of poop and discharge at the airport. They do not need to be in business if they don't care about the puppies they sell...they can blame the Amish all they want (yeah, a likely excuse...) but I hold them responsible for selling the dogs in that condition. They are supposedly based out of Rio, Wisconsin off of HWY 16. Does anyone know anything about this? The local sheriff needs to investigate. Oh, I checked out their health guarantee and it is a joke.

Leatrice, I am sorry you did not get a refund but at least you took one of those poor puppies and gave it a good life. And with the one that died--at least she was loved in her final days. You tried more than this bunch ever would have thought to. AT least SOMEONE TRIED TO SAVE HER!
