I oredered a system from Dell and later decided to change the
configuration. So I re-ordered it. But the previous system was
already shipped. So I returned it the same day I got and paid for the shipping both ways. After a few days I got the system which I wanted and it was on an installment plan.

There is no problem with the system I have now and I am paying the installments regularly on time. After a few weeks I receive a bill as the first installment for the system I returned. I called dell customer service and they said it is not in the system yet and if I have returned it, I should ignore those bills.

Now it is almost two years after this happened. I get a call from
LTD financial services(a collection agency) saying that my account was transfered from dell financials to them to collect $300. I told them I had already returned it long back and I have a return reference number also. They said call dell financials customer support and let them know. I did that and they say I should contact dell customer service. I called dell customer service and they said my account for that system was closed long back.

So I call this LTD financilas and they said they don't know anything about my return reference number and I should pay them immediately. I get calls everyday when I come for lunch and every evening when I return from work. I kept saying them that I cannot pay for something I did not purchase and they should verify with Dell that my system was returned.

And finally one day I get a call saying that my information will be forwarded to credit notification agency and legal action as a fraud case will be filed on me.

I don't have that kind of money to pay for those things so I paid them the amount. So I had to pay $500 for a system which was in me for one day.

Now if I want to complain about this to someone, is it dell playing the game or dell financial services or LTD financials
I don't know. But it is all a planned crime which is going unnoticed. I wanted to let others know of it so that it may not happen again to somebody else.
