Dell Computer ripoff Round Rock Texas

I agree with Trevor Partner reporting about Dell's bad product. I had purchased a Dell Inspirion 1200 Laptop, in less than a year the hard drive went bad. Contacted Dell customer service about the deffective product and was told the warranty on the laptop was only for 3 months. I have used hard drives for 10 years with no deffect. Dell knows about the deffective hard drive and sold the laptops online at a discount evidence they are croock.

Positively agree with Trevor Partner when they said: " Your company now has a reputation for providing products that overheat (the recent laptop fiasco that, rather than issuing a recall, you have decided to embark upon a quiet replacement policy for clients who complain is such an example); it has a widely publicized reputation for rude frontline technical support personnel, and customer service personnel who have no grasp of the basic fundamental concepts of what customer service really means."

Online friends don't buy anything from Dell; cheap product and lousy customer service.

I've been reading about some complaints against Dell and I have to say, I bought a Laptop from them in March of 05. It's an Inspiron 6000. I also purchased the 3 yr extended warentee.. While this laptop has basically been rebuilt due to a bad mother board, few keyboards and the entire casing suddenly splitting all over it I haven't had much trouble with getting these things done.

While I agree the quality of this laptop is obviously pretty lousy as you can see from the above, customer service is pretty annoying because their english is horrible and it does piss ya off a little when they can't understand you, once you can get past that I haven't had any issue's.. They've come out and repaired or replaced whatever it's needed in a matter of days.. Maybe it's because I bought the 3 yr warentee? Not Sure..

to an extent. Yes their service is bad yes they did adress this. Thats why they are spending $100,000,000 to bring it back to the states. As far as the warranty goes. If they only want to put a 90 day warranty on a product they can. It sucks but they can do it. Pay a little more get the better warranty or product and move on with life. Yes people will tell you not to buy the extended warranty on many products. I think on a notebook if you don't buy the warranty you are asking for trouble. NO I AM NOT DEFENDING THEM. I am just explaining their case.

Dell liquidated defective products and bears the responsibility to fix them. Most products carry at least 1 to 5 years warranty, and some have a lifetime warranty. I didn't have to buy the extended warranty if your product is as reliable as other brands. Most consummer advisors do not recommand buying the extended warranty.

You claim you have reputation for reliable product and good customer service, I haven't seen none of that. If Dell paid you to make it a case of amnesia, I understand the way big companies polish their image. No matter how you word it, it is still a rip-off; I am left with a broken laptop after 4 months of use.

Sounds more like "buyer error" to me!

I also own a Dell laptop, although I avoided purchasing their entry-level Inspiron model and instead chose a better model with more advanced capability. When purchasing my Dell, they clearly mentioned the 90-day limited warranty at three different stages in the purchase. Additionally, they offered various options for extended warranties, including both mail-away and in-home options for up to several additional years.

Obviously, you bought one of their cheapest (if not the cheapest) products, and also voluntarily declined the extended warranty coverage at the time of purchase. I do not see how you could not possibly know of the 90-day warranty, and no, suffering from selective amnesia is not an excuse. Why do you feel that you are entitled to a service repair when you voluntarily declined to purchase that feature?
