Since buying a new Dell Computer on 12-06-01, I have had nothing but problems. Kept changing ship date, would not respond to my requests.

After finally getting computer did not receive the rebate form promised by salesperson. E-mailed, wrote letter and tried to phone and no response.

After threatening to file comp;aint, then got rebatge by e-mail within two hours. Having many problems with the new computer and cannot get any service on it.

Supposed to have one in home and tech support service. Tried calling and get menus and suggestions directions to e-mail my problems to tech suport.

Never could talk to mlive person. E-mailed tech sup[port several times and never get response. Only get automated response acknowledging receipt and that a tech support person will be in touch within 24 hours, and they never do.

Have written many e-mails to tech support, e-mails to my salesperson (Sandy Nichols), several letters to CEO (Michael Dell) and faxed complaints to Mr. Dell, Sandy Nichols and to tech support and customer service.

No one ever responds. Cannot get any service on new computer or any response from anyone at Dell Computer Corporation. Would advise anyone looking for a new computer to stay away from DELL. Very bad company.

When the company CEO refuses to respond to rerquest for help, you know the company is not customer orientated. Have filed complaints with Better Business Bureau and Texas State Consumer Protection Department.

Suggest anyone else having tghe same problems with Dell, should also complain to BBB and Consumer Protection. We need to get everyone involved and try to get this company to honor their warranty and service agreements or be shut down. They should not be allowed to do business if this is the way they are going to treat their customers.

They are very nice when you call to buy, but then do not want to be bothered. Hope the word get around so others will not make the same mistake I did.
go somewhere else to buy your computer and accessories.

Gateway does not service their computers without breaking them more.

If you are saying that Gateway is the only company that compares to Dell, that is not a good thing. Gateway does not service their computers without breaking them more. Gateway customer service also does not know how to follow through with what they say. Again if you are saying that Gateway is your only "true" competitor then you are saying that Dell sucks just as bad as Gateway.

RE: rebatestatus.com - delay in receiving rebate checks from Dell Computer and Punch Software

Rebatestatus.com (owned by Continental Promotion Group, 7405 E Monte Cristo Ave, Scottsdale, AZ 85260, 480-606-9300, 800-554-9838, hostmaster@cpging.com) is used by many companies to process rebates. So far this year, I have had two rebates go through them. The first was with Dell Computer, the second was Punch Software.

In both cases, the rebate check was not delivered as advertised. When I inquired about it on the web site, it always said the same thing - received and being processed - until after the check arrived.

Then it would report when the check was mailed. However, in both cases, it was many weeks longer than advertised. In the first case, with Dell Computers, I didn't keep as good of records as I should have. However, on the second one, with Punch Software, I did.

The properly completed rebate and required information was mailed on April 1, 2002. The form said "Allow 8 weeks for delivery" which I did. That would mean I should have received the rebate by May 27, 2002. However, the check was just delivered today 6/18/2002 - over 11 weeks after I mailed it in.

So now I am looking at the check, it is dated 5/14/2002 and is void after 7/13/2002. Tonight I checked the web site. It says the check was mailed 6/14/2002.

Why the one month delay in mailing the check after it was printed? If they would have mailed the check the day it was printed, or even the day after it was printed, I would have received it on time. This was a similar situation with the Dell rebate, but again, I didn't keep accurate records.

I would be interested in hearing their response.

Sir,
If you will follow the phone prompts correctly you will get to a tech support person such as myself. I know this is a fact because I take 30 calls a day so I know it can be done if done properly. Give us a call and well be happy to help you. Dont email us. Youll get no satisfaction. Dont bad mouth a company when you havent given us a chance to help you. I know there is some red tape sometime but I gaurantee we have better support than compaq or gateway. trust me ive owned all 3. Gateway is really the only other computer that compares. Give us a call.
