Complaint Review: Dell Computers

Dell's "Tech Support" is indeed a strange option.

Warranty option; totally understandable and in line with industry.

Dell's "Warranty" option: "Solve your PC repair problems before they happen! Protect your computer for up to four years by extending your Limited Warranty1 and At-Home Service2 Includes At-Home Service and 24-hour phone and online support."

Dell's "Tech support" option: "Dell's Express Tech Support- your priority path to 24X7 Phone Support!Jump to the front of the line! Dell's Express Tech Support shortens your hold time by moving your telephone technical support call to the head of the line, saving you valuable time! Add 3 FULL years of Express Tech Support to your InspironTM notebook with 3 Year limited warranty1 for an additional $109."

Say WHAT? Pay $109. to get the service their customers deserve (and foolishly might expect)? Their tech support must indeed be slow and understaffed for Dell to have the audacity to offer "jumping to the fromt of the line" for an additional $109. What the hell happened to companies providing timely response without making it an "option". After offering to answer in a timely manner as an extra charge, Dell then has the balls to make this claim:

I guess one could assume all these awards were generated by customers who stepped up and paid the $109. The only "award" I can see Dell truly deserving is an award for the most outrageous, disgusting, "option". I think Dell has possibly pulled ahead of car dealer's tactics with this move.
