Dell's Inspiron 5150 notebook was sold with a design flaw. The case puts pressure on a unprotected chip underneath the CD drive. This is well documented from thousands of furious customers online.

When you call dell they require over $175 to even look at you computer, at which point they will charge over $700 for a new motherboard!!!

Worst of all... They don't fix the design flaw so it will reoccur an you will be in the same situation in a few months. The pressure continues to scratch the motherboard under normal use. This is ridiculous to spend over $800 every few months to upkeep a $2000 laptop. Their is no recall or permanent fix offered by Dell. Their tech support has gone down the gutter.
