I purchased a Dell Inspiron 600 August 05. Yes, as you see it have not even been three years. I purchased the extended warranty w/ in home tech support thinking I was protecting my investment but that it was not. On several occasions during the first year of ownership the system started freezing up. Each time I contacted Dell for support and was only informed to reboot my system. After the second time I requested a tech support person to come out and was denied. I went through numerous phone calls and still was not given any satisfaction other than rebooting of the system.
The continued freezing and all Dell would do is keep rebooting my system. I informed them on several occasion that something other than just rebooting my system was going on and still yet no help. So, then the month comes and I have to call once again and Dell refused to assist me at all to tell me that my laptop is out of warranty. This is September 2007 less that three weeks of my warranty goes out my system freezes up once again. No one notated my records of what I asked of my request to have tech support come to my home to repair my system. In addition, they never have Americans offering you customer service.
They would not offer me any help unless I paid them $150.00 for tech support. I refused and ended up searching the web for the reboot function and with in six months from September 2007 my system crashed completely.
I contact Dell again and received the same dragg treatment and no result. I now have a $1200.00 laptop that does not work and the crazy thing is I paid this laptop off less then two years.

I do not have 1200 to waste and I really wish some one would pick up on the fact that Dell rips home customers off. Right now as we I have sat before my computer and started working I called Dell to obtain hte physical address of the company and I am still on hold because no one wants to give me the info. Was told that they do not have the company's address or even know who the CEO of the company is.

If anyone knows of something that can be done to bring the awarenesss to the broad public how Dell home customers are being ripped off by Dell. Call from a company and see the difference of how they treat and offer service to customers.

Michael Dell Does not get emails

If you think someone like Michael Dell will ever read your email, you need to have your head examined.

When you buy cheap you get cheap, people are out looking for the cheapest items they can buy then they expect them to be top notch, it don't work that way.

The Dell website and other sites like are designed by professionals and psychologists to fool people like you. Stores like walmar and best buy are exactly the same.
Most people who get into those electronics departments its like a kid in a candy store. I know because I used to be like that.
Try and find a local computer company to buy your next computer from, make sure they been around for at least 4 years, make sure the owner is available and can be talked to. Do you honestly think you can ever have a meeting with Michael Dell or the CEO of HP or the likes?

I went through to file a report with the BBB and nothing still have happen. Dell still ripping of consumer. I did find that Dell only treat there residential customer as such. There companies they treat with gold. You will and can see a big difference when you call for assistants.
