DELL Promotional price drop amounts to $300 loss for me! Round Rock Texas

On July 16, 2008, I ordered a DELL XPS One All-in-One Desktop PC online from DELL from my seasonal home in NH and paid $2,049 for it. The PC was delivered to my NH address on July 23, 2008. As of today, I've had the PC for 49 days.

As of yesterday, the identical PC on DELL online is selling for $1,749, which is $300 less than I paid. I emailed my DELL salesperson to request a price adjustment. He emailed back, "Unfortunately, we are unable to apply the current promotional price to your previous pruchase. Our system won't allow us to do that. If you want to check with customer care with any questions, you can contact them at 888-682-4382."

I phoned DELL Customer Care today and was told Dell would not make a price adjustment.

That $300 price difference really hurts ~~ hurts me and surely not DELL. What is $300 to DELL? What is the value of a truly satisfied consumer to DEL Inc.?

I would really like DELL to make a price adjustment for me. HELP! HELP! HELP!

You had it for almost two months and want a price adjustment? I think not.

Also if you have a summer home why are you complaining about 300 dollars?

Sorry but this is not a RipOff.

You purchased a computer and had it for almost 2 months, when the price was reduced. Well guess what..that happens all of the time. With the way technology is it is not uncommon for a newer model computer to take over an older model every couple of months. I can almost guarantee that the computer you bought for just over 2,000 was probably closer to $2,500 a month or two before. And if you waited another couple of months that computer you bought will be closer to $1600.

There is not one store out there that will price match a computer for the amount of time you had this one.

Do you buy a 2008 model car and when the 2009's come out go back to the dealer and get the difference back because the 2008's had to be reduced to get them to sell? Do you buy Christmas decorations in November, and the day after Christmas try and get the difference back because they are now on clearance?
