Dell ripoff champions at their best Austin Texas
I bought a dell Dimension 8300 with all the upgrades including the home installation with data migration for an additional 170.00. This fee is for a trained dell tech to come to my home, set up, configure and transfer files from my previous computer to my new one. My computer arrived, I called to make the appointment for the tech. They sai, "He will contact you within 24 hours." I waited 3 days and unpacked and set up my own computer. On the fourth day the tech called. We set up a date and time, discussed what I needed and wanted. The tech showed up an hour early.(I work at home and was with a client) I had him sit and wait until I was finished. He wondered around my house and ended up in my sons room. I took him into my office to explain how I wanted my computer configured. I wanted to network my sons computer with mine. He couldn't figure out how to connect the cables.
He called for help several times. He never did get it right. In the mean time he started messing with my sons computer. He messed up his programs and settings and had it where it wouldn't go on line at all. I asked him if he was going to transfer my data. I left him to do that. 20 minutes later my son came out and asked me how long this man was going to be in his room watching cartoons? I went in and asked what he was doing. He told me he was waiting for my sons computer to boot up.
I asked why he was even touching that computer. He was trying to fix it. It wasn't broken until he messed with it. He then got up and said he would see what he could do with mine. I asked him what I was supposed to do with my son's computer now? He said I should send it in as it is pretty messed up. Needless to say I didn't let him touch my new computer after that. I sent him home. I paid an extra 170.00 for this man to come and ruin two computers. I contacted dell about this. They would not address the issue of the imcompetant tech and gave me directions on how to correct some of the problems that he caused.
I have sent dell a dozen emails about my lemon of a computer and the poor quality of customer and tech care. Each time I get the automatic reply followed the next day by a few directions of how to fix my new computer myself.
I keep getting fatal error on my screen and it completely shuts down. I loose what I am working on and I have to unplug it to clear the screen.
I called tech support. I explained my floppy never has worked from day one.The computer completely freezes on the fatal error screen. I've asked to return it several times if they couldn't send someone to correct the problems. They totally disregard my request each time.
I asked again yesterday and was told that my 30 day return warranty is up. Now they will address this request because my time has expired. What a racket they have going. I paid just under 1700.00 for an inferior and inadequet computer system and the rudest bunch of so called tech's
