I talked to a friend who worked for Dell, and he asked me if I had an ATI X1300 mobile, and I said yes. He then told me I was screwed, because those and the 1600's are messed up (DELL made a deal with ATI), and that I would have to void my warranty to fix the laptop and get the video drivers working.

Other people are saying the ATI installers do a check to see if you're running a DELL laptop, and if you are, it refuses to install the drivers.

The X1300 mobile drivers do not work for me.

They didn't include an operating system CD, or driver CDs and told me I wouldn't need them. Here I am needing them, because I had to format to get rid of Wild Tangent and other spyware dell had pre-installed on my laptop, plus with 66 running processes and about 10 different "music applications", it started to feel bloated (I didn't even install anything).

The DELL website doesn't even have the drivers for this thing, so here I am stuck with a lemon for a laptop.
