I took my 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse to have a simple oil change and (free)tire rotation done. Also it needed a Y-connector for the windshield washer line because for some reason the old one broke. I figured I would take advantage of the coupon they sent me in the mail for the free tire rotation even though I had recently replaced the tires about 6 months ago.

I don't do alot of driving, so there weren't alot of miles put on the tires since I had them replaced but I figured what the heck.

Right away the service writer tried to steer me away from the rotation and I insisted they do it. I presented the coupon and everything was OK. He said it would take about an hour, so I decided to hang around and wait.
About an hour or so later, the tech who worked on the car brought it back out and parked the car. I hadn't yet noticed the damage on the bottom of the front bumper.
So I waited for the cashier to call me in. She called me in and I paid them. I then returned to my car and immediately opened the hood to see if the Y-connector had been replaced. It had not.

I then started looking around the car to make sure nothing else was wrong because the last time I brought my car there, the terminal on my battery was mysteriously broken. (This is the only place I have taken my car since moving to Florida 3 years ago. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and figured that maybe it was broken by accident. I replaced the battery myself).
As I'm looking around the vehicle, I get to the front bumper and notice a big scrape with yellow paint transferred on to it on the bottom right side. So I return to the writer and explain the situation and he responds with "oh SH*T". He then tells ME to go over to the parts department to get the Y-connector and bring it back so he could put it on.

I get back to my car and while I was gone, he had wiped the freshly transferred yellow paint off of the car. He tells me that the service manager is on his way over.
So I explain that the damage was not there before and that the tech probably scraped it on the lift. He says that could not have happened because the lift he was using was the quick lube lift and it was painted blue.
He brings me into the shop to confirm the color of the lift and yes it was in fact blue, BUT the other regular type lift was..Yep, you guessed it-YELLOW!!.

So I said he probably drove over the yellow lift and it scraped the bottom of the bumper. He still denied that that could have happened and that the tech would have told him anyway if he had damaged the car. YEAH, right..So then he's accusing me of causing the damage myself and I KNOW I didn't do it. Now I've got the writer AND the manager ganging up on me and coming up with any excuse to not take responsibility for the damage, meanwhile on the so-called Multi-Point Inspection (which I didn't ask for by the way) the tech noted the existing roofing shingle damage on the fender.

So, if the tech had the car up on the lift and inspected the car from top to bottom..what are the odds he would miss the big scrape on the bumper? It was not noted on the inspection card and could only mean one thing:
The damage wasn't there when he inspected the car..therefore HE CAUSED IT after his inspection. Surely he would have noted it to protect himself...but he didn't.

Finally I gave up, because I didn't have time to argue. I had some where to go so I left. VERY angry I might add.
Anyway, not only did the tech damage my car, he got oil all over the engine and didn't even wipe it off. So I get a couple of miles down the road and the oil starts burning and creating smoke as I'm driving down the road. This can all be summed up in one simple equation: Lousy service + damage to my car + shady business practices = RIPOFF!!!!!!!
