Del Stahr, Jr. lied to me and charged me double that I was quoted for a tune up on a 1996 GMC Savana Van.

I checked the parts afterwards and AutoZone's retail price was 1/2 what he charged me for a tune up. That was a 100% mark up on parts.

The verbal price we agreed upon was $200 for a tune up. He used the lowest cost parts from AutoZone and doubled the price and charged me more labor than we agreed upon.

He threatened to keep my van if I did not pay what he asked; $421.76.

He dropped the price $50, but charged me and I paid him $371.

Beware.

Happy for you that Del's mechanic did good by you. His mechanic Eddie is very good, Del is the problem.

It's funny HONESTY IS OUR POLICY is now out of his ads.

I did not choose to go to the dealer because of the price we agreed upon was fair and I know the costs of the parts. 100% mark up is absurd and was a lie after he told me $2 a plug.

I have another job he agreed to do, but lied and charged me for, putting a choke on a truck; but no choke. it's wise to save receipts.

There is much to learn about Del Stahr Jr., stay tuned.

It's not "belly aching" Dar; if a man's word is no good, he is no good. Keep taking your cars there. I wish you well.

I have given about $3000 of business to Del's and about $500 was fraudulently charged. That is called fraud.

Depending on what the tuneup consisted of ...plugs, wires, cap, regulators , whatever...that sounds like a great price to me. Dude! If you think that's a lot of money you should check out what a dealer would charge you...... stop your belly aching, $400.00 for parts and labor sounds like a regular price to me. The dealer would charge about $200.00 more. Retail price is always what service repair shops charge, If you wanted rock bottom prices why wouldn't you have gone to Auto Zone and bought your own generic parts, I'm sure they were not GMC parts!!! I have always had the best service from Del's Auto Service and they are very honest.
