Delta Airlines Delta Airlines ripping off customers with change fees Internet
I recently purchased two one-way tickets from Nashville to Norfolk (via connect in Atlanta) from Delta for my son (in Navy) and his girlfriend. The girlfriend is from Canada and something came up and she had to book a flight back home.
I paid for the two airline tickets to help my son and his girlfriend.
I contacted Delta Customer Service by phone to ask what my options were since she would not be able to use the ticket. The tickets were a special price of ($89.10 each) and were non-refundable. The agent I spoke with said a name change or change of flight would cost $150. A simple name change $150???? No exchange offered toward another flight.......NOTHING!!!!
Won't be booking flights with Delta again. Back to Southwest for me, even if the price of the ticket is a little more expensive.
Such a ripoff on these change fees!!! There should be laws protecting consumers against this mess!

Yes, the charge is very expensive. However, you should have read what the agreement you accepted when you bought the ticket. That's why it is a special deal. Just because it has strict conditions and your situation happens to fall through, it is not a rip off.
