Complaint Review: Delta Airlines

Delta Airlines This is preferred treatment? Atlanta Georgia

I fly regularly. Lately, when I make a reservation, Delta does not permit me to make a seat selection. I am told I cannot as I 'might' get upgraded to first class.

Then the day of the flight, the flight is magically full, and everyone else has been able to select seats, so I am left with the worst seat on the aircraft and no one can 'do' anything about it. I am told, "Gee there is nothing we can do. It should not have happened, Customers are out first concern, have a nice day."

This is how they treate preferred customers who spend lots of time in their aircraft and spend hundreds of thousands of dollar with them?

I would be better off just getting the lowest fare. They treat me just as poorly but for less.

Should be easy to select seats; online, kiosk, etc

I fly Delta quite a bit, Gold Medallion. When I make reservations online I actually select my seats prior to paying/completing the transaction! If I cannot get an aisle, I may select another flight. Also, when I check in at the Kiosk, I check to see if there are any other better seats available. If I am stuck with a middle seat, I go to the gate 1 hr prior to departure and ask very nicely for a better seat, key is to be VERY nice! They always have seats available that even the people that check you in cannot see. If I dont get an upgrade, I usually will get a better seat vacated by someone that DID get an upgrade. I am happy to help if you need any.
