My fiance was hoping to propose to me the day before my birthday, the day he was taking to me Chicago for the whole day. He bought the wedding band (a beautiful set of three welded bands with diamonds wrapped around) from Rogers and Holland. He bought the diamond wholesale because it was much cheaper. Rogers and Holland could not set the diamond into the band and re-size the band by the time he wanted to propose. So he took it to Richard Engels Jewelers, not knowing it would be one of the biggest mistakes of our lifes.

My Fiance had taken it to Richard Englers because they could set the diamond and resize it in only 6 days. Which was perfect for my fiance because that was the day before our big day in chicago when he was going to purpose. First Richard Englers charged us over two hundred dollars more then what they told us it was going to be because as they explained, "It was such a beautiful unique ring that they wanted to make sure they did a good job, and it would cost more than they had told us." So he paid over two hundred dollars more, for my beautiful ring to be sized, and set with the main diamond. He got it just in time, and it looked great. Everything went great for about three and a half weeks.

Almost a month later I noticed two of the tiny diamonds on the band were missing. I started to panic and right away took it to Rogers and Holland were we had bought the band, and the warinty. They told us right away, the warinty was void after bringing it to Richard Englers, and that they were responsible. Also, that we have to be careful about who we choose to do those important things, because of they don't do a good job or don't know what they are doing things like this could happen.

So the next morning I called Richard Englers Jewelers and explained to them what had happened, and because they were the ones to heat up the ring (and anyone with common sense knows when you heat up a ring so hot to re-size it, it wil make the diamonds in the band lose) and not make sure after re-sizing my ring that the diamonds were still secure and properly set in the band, they were responsible and should be the ones to fix my ring. The woman I spoke to on the phone told me she would talk to the owner and call me back.

About a half an hour later I recieved a phone call from that very same woman telling me to she spoke to the woman and that they could not do anything for me, that Rogers and Holland must stick behind their guarentee of the band. Which anyone with common sense would know that it was their fault, and they are the ones that messed and altered with the band, so they were responsible.

I called back Rogers and Holland to tell them what had happened, and they told me they were still not responsible and that would be like bringing a car back to a dealership and telling them to fix it after I brought it to a mechanic who messed up the car.

So I decided after a hour and half of balling, and feeling as though I was cheated and being walked all over by a company that is supose to be looking out for their customers as number one, I decided to drive to Richard Englers Jewelers in Grandville.

I arrive at the store and walk in addressing the lady at the first front desk for the owner. She tells me the owner is out to lunch and will not be back for 45 minutes, and I tell her that I will just wait for him in my car. As I am walking out she asks if there is something she can help me with, and I tell her there isn't that I had called earlier and was very upset and displeased with the quality of their work, and she asked if I was the woman who called earlier about the diamonds falling out of my band, and I responded yes. She procceded to tell me again why they are not responsible, and I told her afterwards she was responsible because even though it was at customers risk there is no reason that after three and a half weeks these diamonds should just fall out when I don't do any hand work, except for if they didn't check to see if the diamonds in the band were secure and set properly before returning the ring to my fiance.

After saying this, very rudely another woman interupted with a very snotty tone and high voice to me telling me pretty much I didn't know what I was talking about, and if I had I wouldn't be there telling them they were responsible. After saying that, I politely said, "Well I wasn't addressing you, I was in the middle of a poliet conversation and I was asking to speak to the owner and if it wasn't taken care of there would be a lawsuit." Then as I was walking out to go wait in my car for Mr. Englers, the woman waited til I was out of sight, then after so un-professionaly laughing shouts down to me, "Well I have your fiances signature so there is nothing we are going to do about it, and he will tell you the same thing!"

I have never felt so disrespected, so taken for granted, and terriable. This isn't just some piece of jewelery, this isn't just any ring, necklace, or set of earings. This is my WEDDING ring, that symbloizes someones love and commitment to me for th erest of our lives! And they have the nerve to treat a customer the way they did? It was bad enough that they pretty much screwed us over on something so important, then it was even worse that they treated me with such poor service, but then to even on top of that be so rude, I could not believe it.

I hope this never happens to anyone else out there, and I will make sure I try to not let it happen by telling my story.
