Complaint Review: Dennis Hurley General Carpentry

Dennis Hurley of Albany is a carpenter and roofer who worked for a neighbor of mine. I needed a roof on my addition and emergency repair on a friend's roof, he gave me an estimate. It was agreeable and he seemed competent. He asked for money up front and I, call me trusting (or a fool), handed it over. He showed up at the friend's roof, did an inadequate job on a tiny portion, and never came back. "Next week" became never.

When he answered phone calls there was evasion. Promises that he would return the deposit were not kept. Then he stopped answering. He is a thief and a liar (see other complaints on this site). I wish I'd checked this before I hired.
