Dennis khanna got us too! It's been almost 5 years and we still haven't recovered!

I don't even know where to begin. My hisband got laid off and we got behind on our mortgage.  Dennis convinced us to get a second mortgage using our equity to catch us up and pay off all of our other bills (ie car loan).  Sounded good to us, we wre desperate. He had us call our creditors and make a deal with them to reduce the interest. That's when things started going wrong.  We made all these deals and dennis was suppose to forward the money to our creditors by a certain date. He didn't! He only paid off one and charged us thousands of dollars in fees. We weren't happy but we figured it was only for one year and then we could roll the 2nd into the first and be done with him.

A year later he informs us that there is a fee of $8000.00 dollars to get out of his mortgage. Then we find out that HIS appraiser (some guy from st Catherine's) over valued our home by about $80,000! (we called a local realtor). The bank wouldn't give us that much because it was more than our house was worth. Then he says he'll find us a bank.  Again we' re desperate! This guy has us cornered!

He he talks us into a new mortgage.  By the time it was all settled, he made us use his lawyer and at the last second he says he can't get the whole mortgage so we are going to need a small 2nd. First mortgage was 6% and second mortgage was 50,000.  There was no way we could make the payments.  Our mory gage payments went from 1200 a month originally to 2100 a month.  Then we discovered that Global Financial (where he got us the second mortgage) was owned by him!

It was so stressful!  I lost my job, we walked away from our house and he put a judgement against us for the $50,000 of the second mortgage.

He sold our house through some "rent to own" deal, Probly 4 or 5 times over the next few years but ripped off every single one if them.

We we didn't realize it at the time but he never took the house out of our names.  He kept paying that first mortgage in our names!  We left our home in 2009 and he finally changed it into his own name in 2013!!!

Over the years we have went to the police, lawyers, anyone that would listen;  they all agreed that what he did was fraud but we would need thousands of dollars to get him.

I never have up hope.  Today I woke up and googled his name like I have occasionally done over the years, and was so excited/saddened to discover others who could appreciate the horror of being scammed like we were.

I would love to see a class action lawsuit.  This guy isn't just destroying your credit rating, he's destroying families!

We are going to contact the hamilton spectator guy too.  The problem is, we are sure that he pays off everyone, so we're not too hopeful :)

I strongly suggest you remove this from RIPOFF REPORTS... you have no fact to support this, you didn't have to take the financing, you could have gone else ware... and fees are charged for services, you didn't have to accept or go through with it... you had best deal here.. and now your slandering metro financial and me..This is defamation of character of me and of my company.. If you don't want to be in court for this nonsense I strongly suggest you remove this from RIPOFF REPROTS. My file is ready for my lawyer to go against you personally and any media bodies who allow fictitious nonfactual slander to be published.

Banks, lending institutions all have a grace period, before they foreclose. Fees are added for this as well. We at Metro are not responsible for home owners spending habits, good or bad, or responsibilities they put on themselves. We only finance their needs and wants... and there is a fee for service. No one wants put any one out of their homes... The court also gives a grace period, and is sensitive to these situations.. But at the end of the day, and months of letters, etc. there is court, a decision at law, and or you pay your arrears or your evicted. by courts. "NOT" Metro Financial.
I hope this explains everything.. Remove this from RIPOFF REPORTS by Friday the 5Th 2014. or you will be hearing from my Lawyer.
Thank You.
Metro Financial

Note. We Finance "YOUR" Dreams, Needs, and Wants... You are responsible for your decisions and payments..You have the choices, to say Yes or No. Just as if you purchase or lease a new car... Customers come to us.. We Don't Seek them out.
We Wish you Well.

Hello, please contact the spec reporter. Your story is exactly like mine! right to the last point.. my takedown was the same process... over feed me, put me in debt, tried to take 1st mortgage to get out of his escalating fees etc and he reapplied a new higher 2nd mortgage and has been going after me with it... strangling me... has my house rent to own with himself as owner but has my mortgage in my name on the house... WHAT....has taken what he has against me and escalated it so now I will never get any equity out of my home if it ever gets really sold! I went to him for a consolidation loan for $25000 and in 3 years I now am soaked by him not only for my home but over $140,000... what numbers on paper can do that?????? If you count the garnishing and rent from rent to own prob closer to $150 000..... with no money to fight him!!! Dennis I know you will read this.... YOU RUINED MY LIFE!!!!!!
