On May 20th, 2008 I received a call from Dennis Meirers about doing a radio spot on the show he hosts called 'Metro Talk Radio'. The call was pleasant and during the call he explained that in addition to the air time, if I paid an extra $45 I would also get a copy of the show on CD. Well, I paid for the air time and the additional CD. I was very excited about getting a CD of the program because that is what I was going to use to do additional marketing with. The recording and live show went well.

The problems began when I did not receive the CD as promised. I called and emailed Dennis numerous times and in most cases he did not reply. On the occasions that he did reply, he was rude and had one story after another as to why I didn't have the CD yet. Some examples:

"It is in the mail"
"I lost it"
"I recorded over it"
etc ...

At one point he was trying to get me to come to his radio station to get the tape and at the same time listen to a presentation by Gary Marcus having to do with financial planning.

Each time I did talk with him, he made one promise after another to get it resolved and as of this writing (6-30-2009) I have not received the CD or been reimbursed for the cost.

I filed a report with the Better Business Bureau. The report was ultimately closed because Dennis Meiers never responded to them.

I have since then met many other people who have had the same experience with Dennis Meiers. Most recently, I was able to connect with someone who had recently been on his show and I started calling Dennis Meiers again to get the status on my tape. This time he told me that he found it and was sending it to me. A week passed and no tape and when I called him, I was told that he thought he had it but had mistakenly recorded over it.

This time he said he would send me a check for the $45. It has been 2 weeks since he promised the check and I have yet to receive anything in the mail.

My advice is that if you do decide to do a show with Dennis Meiers, don't opt for the recording and have someone at home record the show for you.

I have had a very negative experience with Dennis Meiers and would not recommend him to anyone.
