Dent And Ding Appliances Appliances have electrical/mechanical flaws, not just "dents" or "dings" Oklahoma City Oklahoma
Two years ago my husband and I built a new house. Our builder suggested going to Dent and Ding to get our appliances as we were on a tight budget. We purchased all of our kitchen appliances with Dent and Ding, including a built-in refrigerator. The refrigerator was sold "as is." We thought since it did not have a couple of pieces of trim and was missing a grill at the bottom, as well as missing a couple of shelves, that is why the price was so good. We purchased the refrigerator and had Dent and Ding hold it because we were still building our home. The reason we picked-out the refrigerator and other appliances before our home was finished is so the carpenter/trim people would have dimensions for the appliances before they started making cabinets, etc, for our kitchen.
The refrigerator was delivered and installed. It worked fine for about two months. Then the ice maker started acting-up. We called for repair, and someone from Dent and Ding came and fixed the ice maker. Three or four months later it happens again. This time no one from Dent and Ding will call us back. So we call an independent appliance repair company and they come out. While they were working on our refrigerator, they causally mentioned that it was in fact a USED appliance. It wasn't new. It had been previously owned. Nice.
The refrigerator continued to need repairs for the next few months. Finally it was decided that it needed a new motor and major repairs to function correctly. I called Dent and Ding and told them. They said that our 12 month warranty had expired. I told them we had only had the refrigerator for 8 months. They told me the warranty started the minute I purchased the refrigerator, never mind that they held it in their warehouse for 7 months. I told them that this wasn't fair, and that furthermore I knew they sold me a USED refrigerator. Nothing in the bill of sale states that it was used. Nothing on the ticket, invoice, etc, states that it is used. We assumed that it was a bit "Dinged" and purchased it accordingly.
I contacted the local Better Business Bureau, and they report that people have been filing complaints about Dent and Ding, but that they haven't been able to find an owner to settle complaints.
Now I find that my microwave beeps constantly when it's cooking something, my stove occasionally malfunctions, and my dishwasher is hit and miss at best - it sometimes fills with water, sometimes it doesn't.
This has been a disaster! After 13 service calls and $2000 later, I *think* our refrigerator is working properly.

90% of our products have a 1 year warranty from date of purchase. For the 10% of the other items the price tag on the item shows the warranty information. Every customer signs off on their receipt that the warranty was explained and gets a copy of the terms of their warranty attached with the receipt. Much like any consumer product the warranty starts at date of purchase not date of delivery.
