Complaint Review: Dental Dreams

Consumers beware of Dental Dreams dental offices. I'm 5 months with no teeth in my mouth, no dentures and my insurance have run out. I now have to go into the marketplace to purchase new insurance. This whole nightmare started in Dec. 2016 when I had a problem with 2 teeth in my mouth went to Dental Dreams and the dentist told me I have gum disease and she removed 2 teeth. Then I was told I need to have the remaining 14 teeth extracted and get full dentures.

I told dentist to let me think on this and speak to my wife because this was a big life changing decision.

I then asked the dentist is there any other alternatives I had to choose from she stated no I asked what about partial dentures and she said my insurance which was Molina medicare insurance would only cover full dentures.

I thought what about treating the gum disease and get partials but on the advice of my dentist, I then asked can you call the insurance and see if I am covered for this procedure and I went home.

This whole process started in dec. 2016.I received a call from Dental Dreams a day or so later saying please come in because your insurance company has approved me for getting the dentures. This was in Jan. of 2017 The dentist then removed all 14 of my remaining teeth and said now we have to wait for you to heal and then we will star the process to get molds for your new dentures.

Please know no one ever asked me if I could pay for the other alternative of treating the gum disease and get partial dentures.

They either assumed I couldn't afford this or they knew they could make more money charging my insurance company for full dentures, whatever happened to the dentist saying we are in the business of saving teeth? On yeah that's only when they think they can charge you for root canal work. Go figure.

I am getting more and more pissed off as I am writing this report. so with that being said I will try and wrap it up.

This is the best part or worst part of this whole rip off by the  Dental Dreams scum bags. After 1 week from the extractions they asked me to come in because they said I should be healed enough to get the molds started, I went in only to be told lets wait a couple more days and they rescheduled me 3 days later and I went back at this time a dental assistant set me up and made the molds. I was told oh it would take anywhere from 1 week to 2 weeks to get the molds back from the lab.

! week, later Dental Dreams called me to say I needed to come back in because the molds were not done correctly. I went back in and at this time my dentist she did the molds. I then waited a week and a half and Dental Dreams called and scheduled me to come in because my molds were back I went in and they fitted me again only to find out the molds had to be adjusted, another 2 weeks went by and another call from Dental dreams your labs are bad and this time it was a wax mold with teeth in the molds, I went back in and when my dentist put the wax impressions with the teeth in I almost choked to death they did not fit at all

The dentist then took them and adjusted them in the office while I sat in the chair for close to an hour only to put them back ion and still they were no good fit. The dentist then said  I need to take another impression and send them back to the lab and once they come back I should be all good. 2 more weeks I wait and finally, I called them and they said oh your dentures have been here for a couple of days, please come in and they scheduled me 2 days later. I signed in and waited for over an hour and a half when noticed some people who came in after me were waited on and had left, I asked the receptionist when I was to see the dentist and she said what are you here for. I told her my name is on the sign in list and she then checked my name and went into the back office and came out and told me we don't have any labs back for you. I said to her check again she did and same results.

I was so pissed I went off on the receptionist, definetlyI took off work to come here far nothing she apologized and I left. I then got a call 2 days later saying my dentures are definitely there come in for your fitting.When I got to see the dentist she said I would have to do another mold and the lab said I should bite down harder, well I did until I had a migraine headache at which time I left again.

I finally got a call to come in on the 1st of April that my dentures are there and it should be a final fitting. I signed in sat for 2 hours and they called my name I got up went to the door to the exam rooms and the receptionist stopped me and said wait I don't see your name or insurance come up on our computers, I said well let me go fit my dentures and you can keep checking. She said no way no can do we check your insurance each and every time a patient con=mes in and if their information does not come up we can't see them. I said to her why the hell can't I go see the dentist and she said you should call your insurance company maybe the changed you to different insurance and didn't tell you and i told her why don't you call them? The receptionist said we are not supposed to do that if it does not come up on our computer.

Again I cussed them out for attention to detail is everything, they would not accommodate me at all so to this date may 1st I do not have any teeth or dentures I do have bad indigestion for trying to eat foods other than soup[, soft cookies, and grilled cheese. 

What I Have found out since then is my insurance ran out March 31st and I will

have the way I spoke to Molina after all this transpired and they said nothing they can do either, so I asked to file a medicare Fraud complaint against Dental Dreams they said ok and asked for the particulars. 

So I went back to Dental Dreams to find out what can I do to get my Dentures and that my insurance had run out wasting all that time with their bumbling and unskilled workers. They offered me a payment plan thru their office and I would only be responsible for half the remaining cost which came to 2000 dollars. The plan they offered would not cover the full remaining amount and told me of another credit company I could apply for a loan. The company denied me I then gave Dental Dreams 400 dollars cash to try and pay off the balance.

To this date I still do not have any dentures.

Please, people, do not go to this butcher shop/medicare fraud con people you will be sorry.
