about 19 years ago, i enrolled in a computer graphics arts class with a school called denver business college. i was going to learn how to create graphics on a computer earn my degree and make a better life for me and my unborn child. imagine my surprise when after only two weeks of computer training, i was told that the course i was enrolled in was designed for working at a newspaper! i was furious.

i talked to my instructer about this and was assured that there would be more computer work, just to hang in there. several weeks later, still no computer work. i quit the class and was assured once again that i would not be charged for the schooling i received via my student loan, that my pell grant would be used to pay for the schooling i had received.

cut to present date......i am now in default for a student loan for over $5,000. my pell grant was returned(or so i thought) and the student loan was used to pay the "school". denver business college no longer exists.....the finance company that had my loan after i defaulted no longer exists and i am going to have to pay the loan in full if i want to go back to college. how is this fair??? isnt there some law against stealing from the u.s. government? will i have to file for bankruptsy? i am furious!!!
