As many single parents have found, the Az DCSE office leaves more than a little to be desired. I have had an order for child support since my divorce in 1989.

I attempted to get it enforced in the year 2000 when my boys were becoming expensive teenagers. Up until that time, I had done it on my own.

It took me a year to get the ball rolling up the DCSE hill WITH an outstanding order. Needless to say, I had to do ALL the work.I called once a week, like clockwork, to harrass these people into doing something, anything.

I called regional offices, contacted the delinquent parent's place of employment myself (as well as their corporate office, I located his home address, phone #, old driver's license. You name it, I did it.

I forwarded information to the other state, explained to them their own processes, I was even invited to come work for them....

I have kept record of all the inane comments made by telephone operators who can't (or won't) do anything. Bottom line is that everyone is afraid to make any attempt to gather information when it right there at their fingertips.

I contacted a private investigator to ask a question and he gave me 2 leads by simply putting his name in his database! They don't even have internet access as of 2002. Even restaurants have websites!

Bottom line is how persistent you are interested in being. Once it starts rolling in, it's like clock work.

My children & I are owed in excess of $120,000.00 in past due support, one year of which could have been avoided.

My suggestion to any custodial parent trying to obtain support is to keep on plugging, if you don't, your case is shelved indefinitely. It is up to you, even though these schmucks are paid to do a job, to be on top of the case at all times.

Keep records, and read back to them everything, along with dates, times, names, etc. The squeaky wheel eventually gets greased.
