I am a success story of the welfare reform for now. I entered the program which promised to put me through a 4 month office class, and assist me with transportation. If I did this I would recive a $1000 bonus to complete, and stay off welfare for 2 years. I did.

After many, many headachs, arguments, and fights, I did complete my course. It was five months for me to get books for this 4 month course, but if I did not attend I would loose all benfits. I was denied assistance with my transportation problems, and never got the $1000. I was forced out of the class before I graduated, but still got a good job.

I wish this could be a class action suit because there are 100's out there that were treated like me. They stole my opportunity.

I too can relate to Karen about how the system is.I hope that everything is going well for you. To the gentleman in California, I take it that you have never been in the system. I too, had that same attitude about ppl living off the government, until I found myself being one of the ones also that had to rely on the govt for about 12 months. I had worked from the time I was 17 until I was laid off from a job( the same job)in manufacturing.

I felt all this time that I had work my butt off and paid taxes when the time came I should have been able to get some help. Yeah right. It was a nightmare. So don't look down on ppl like that because one day you could very well be in the same boat, and with the administration that is currently in office that could be sooner than you think.

Get real, you are still complaining about the help you received?

You were offered a free class and a way to get off welfare, and you are still complaining about the help you received? The only reason you would even consider this options is because your benefits were going to be cut off and the finacial dependacy you have on the government would of been gone. How dare you even complain on about an agency that was trying to help you better yourself.
