Dermatone My Facial Cream & Eye Serum Christie Brinkley advertisement Company made Free Trial no risk offer offer of facial Cream endorsed by Christie Brinkley in a Face Book advertisement Glendale California
I responded to a Facebook advertisement with a Christie Brinkley endorsement of a Dermatone " My Facial Cream & Eye Serum . Free No Risk Trial offer .... Just pay the postage and handling.. At no time was I informed that the free sample ( Small Bottles) was in fact the full product. Not only that but unless I cancelled I was signed into having my account charged over $190 within two weeks for what I thought was a free sample. That was how it was presented. At no time in the advertisement was I warned or informed of this.. Certainly plenty of risk as they hit my account and have now hit it twice.
Trying to phone them to cancel I stayed holding waiting for someone to answer for over 35 minutes..... No answer at all.. I have had to cancel my credit card to stop this flagrant rip off. I have now lost nearly $400 including the initial shipping and handling charges they made. That is almost $100 a bottle for a very small amount in each.
I am staggered that someone of Christie Brinkley's stature would stoop to endorsing such obvious market trickery and RIP OFF.... Disgusting.
Going to Dermatone's website the same offer was being made but with some very small print link to conditions where they do say that they are going to charge your account $190 + in fourteen days but this was only on their website NOT on the Facebook Advertisement and I ordered from that not the website.
There are numerous
complaints online regarding this particular trickery and I do not believe trying to scam people by using moblie device type of advertising without full disclosure of what they intend to make you commit to is legal.
