when looking on line for a kennel that might have a strong blood line. we came across DeRo's New York Poodles ad. The ad is beautiful and her dog appear to be very nice.I called the lady and she said the puppy we were looking at had a beautiful head, he did. She never told me her dogs were very large.

My partner and I flew to NY to see the dog . We bought him and I agreed to finish him if he did not have any major faults.

At 4 months he was very close to 11 inches a full inch over the limit. He still had a lot of growing to do. I called her and said I would have to sendhim back. She went nuts screaming at me. I told her he was to big and at 6 months would probably be 12 nches. I had gone to a great deal of expence with this dog and asked her for just the $2000.00 I had paid for the dog. She refused.

By now I had put out close to $3,000.00 on this dog.
I did not feel I was asking to much just to get my money back. She said she was going to get another opinion from the lady at southampton Kennels. Steph told her to give me my money back the dog was a giant. After speaking to Steph she told me Barb brought all her dogs to her
and all were oversize except one and she was of poor quality.

She never sent the money back and would not contact me.
I have never heard from her but Steph told me she had never been in the show ring. Her dogs were great pets but not show quality. BUYER BE WARE!!

You and your partner saw this puppy and bought him at 16 weeks or 4 months old with the anticipation of showing him at 6 months, which you acknowledge. If he was big at that time why did you take him. I doubt you had any intention of showing him but to use him for breeding. I saw this puppy the day it was picked up at the airport and you could tell this puppy was not properly taken care of bordering on abuse. The condition of his coat was very matted, proving there was no intention of showing him or else his coat would have been pristine.

At the airport he came flying out of the crate into the breeders arms crying. I don't believe the negative statement from Southampton because I have gone to shows where her toys were entered in the show. DeRos takes excellent care of her puppies, they are well socialized, this little guy was a happy well adjusted puppy when he left and came back unsocialized, traumatized, coat a mess and it took a great deal of work to bring him around to being a happy healthy boy again.
