I recently bought a car from desert dodge in Las Vegas nevada. I had heard an advertisement on the radio offering an amazing deal on a new car. I came in and the salesman tried the usual 'you don't qualify' and 'the deal was only one one car and it has been sold' type of thing.

So I asked to speak to the manager and I was told by the manager that he would work me out a simular deal. After fighting with John Garadni (not too sure of spelling of last name)(who is the assistant manager) for several hours we settled on a price of the vehicle. While I was signing my paper work he tried to get me to initial a box that was empty. (This box was for adding additional dealer specific options) I refused telling him that I would not sign an empty space. He told me that ALL spaces had to filled out or the bank will reject the sales agreement. So I crossed out the blank space with a single line and signed next to it. We finished our deal and I went home.

Later I got thinking that my car cost more than what we had agreed on. I tried to call to get a copy of my paperwork but they told me I had to wait because it was desert dodges policy not give you a copy of your sales agreement until your registration slip comes in.

Eventually 3 weeks later I got a copy of my sales agreement and I found out that John had wrote above where I crossed out the space, a list of options to be added to my bill. He put in (vehicle theft regristration), (desert protection package), and (scotch guarded carpeting). in all this cost me an extra $1,500. When I confronted the manager about it I was told that "I knew fully what I was signing at the time" and that "sometimes you have to learn things the hard way".

I have since talked to other people about this and it seems like they have been screwed also. I called the local BBB but they say they can't coment if anything like this has been previously reported to them. Bottom line is be extra careful before you sign anything, especially if you are buying from desert dodge.
