I brought my car in with a dented rim, and overdue for oil, lube, and belt/milage check/service. This was on a Saturday mid-day. I was told that they would need to get a rim from another dealership, but that they would have it by late morning Monday and my car should ready Monday afternoon.

In full confidence of this prediction, I rented a car for the weekend, to be turned in Monday afternoon. Monday afternoon I called the service dept and was told that person was out,but that he would get right back witrh me.
Two hours later I called again to get a voice recording telling that service is closed and please call again during normal business hours.....you know the rest of that speech.

So I called the rent-a-car place and extended the rental one more day (what was I thinking!). Late Tuesday morning I called and all connections to that service advisor went to voice mail and no return call, even though I made sure to give him my cell phone number on each message.
So late Tuesday afternoon I am once again hoping that Desert Kia Service had done the work and were so busy that they forgot to call, and I call the rental car place again and extend one more day.

Wedensday late morning I call service again and instead of my service advisor I ask to speak to the service manager. When I finally get him after two transfers and redirects to the hold Qeue I finally get him on the line, at which point he promises to look into it, and that he'll call me back as soon as he knows anything about the status of my car.

Late Wedensday afternoon- about 5PM- I call them back, and am told they just now sent a parts runner for the part, and that my car would definitely be ready ealry Thursday morning. So once again I extend the car rental for one more day.

I call Thursday mid-morning and learn that they can't find the rim, so the runner was tracked down and I was told that he hadn't went to get it yet.
Having lost all faith at this point I call the rental place and extend the rental through to Saturday. The Kia service called me at work in the mid-afternoon to let me know my car was ready.

Problem being I'm at work, with the rental car and I won't be off work early enough to return the rental car. So Friday evening I have a friend ride with me to dealership to get my car out of there.

Maybe they gave a break on price for the trouble, maybe not, almost $300 for 2 tires, one rim alum stndrd, and a oil,lube,tune,check-up at 25K miles.
But what really raped me raw was the whopping $400 + charges from the rental car place becuase I'd been renting by the day after the inital 3 days for a wkend, plus insurance and gas.

But those charges would not have accrued like that if Desert Kia service dept was honest enough to say, "we're goint to sit on your car for a whole week and ignore it, even though we said we'd work it in, just to get you in here.

t least I'd have known to rent the car in a less expensive mode. And I;d have known when to set up a secondary driver, since it was after the car rental hours, and for their own shuttle driver. I don't know any of the other dealership service depts yet. But I will, I'm not going back to Desert Kia for anything, not even a wiperblade.
