Desert Sky Closets Said real wood, delivered particle board, WRONG!!! Scottsdale Arizona
Hi, my name is Phil Demetres, and I would like to see if I can get some help in getting a deposit returned from a R.O.C. member, number 275896, Desertsky Closets. On June 29th of this year we entered into a contract to build a closet in our master bedroom and that it would be of solid wood construction, for which the owner said that it would be. But the fact of the matter was it was not, it was particle board, and for the $4,000 we were going to pay for it, we expected it to be of a solid wood construction. Also, the wood color and pattern that we chose were not of the day of installation. After getting a call from the owner, explaining that wife my had refused it, I called my wife back and talked to her about it find out what was going on.
She told me what was stated above, and I called the owner back and told him that she was not happy with what they brought and that I was in agreement with her about the matter, and the owner stated on the phone and in text that there would be no refund of the deposit because it was special mil work when in reality he had told me on the day that he came to do the measuments that they were of standard size and there were no need to do any cutting. We are not looking for any thing other than our $2,000 deposit back and to put this behind us. It is our hope that you can help us resolve this matter in any way possible. I thank you for your time.

I am happy to report that Desert Sky Closets did refund me my full refund and were very gracious about. It was a misunderstanding, and I hold no ill will against them, they did the honorable thing and I applaud them for it. I wish them all the best,

Since the day we opened our doors, I've been completely transparent about our business. We use the highest quality materials sourced exclusively in North America and fabricated in our factories in Phoenix and Toronto. In the thousands of jobs we've done, this is the first time anybody has ever been dissatisfied with our materials.
Every company in the custom closet industry uses some combination of compressed fiberboard, MDF, melamine and thermofoil. I have never represented our products as anything else -- simply put, there's no need to! The beauty and strength of our materials speak for itself. This is why I bring a full sample kit to every sales call, so you see and feel for yourself how great our products are.
When I came over to your home we looked at every sample and you and your wife found the winner. You saw it, held it, and loved it. This is the exact same material and finish we brought to your house to install. Fortunately I can prove this because I have the sample and material you purchased in my warehouse.
You are correct that we did not have to order custom sized cabinetry -- however, everything we ordered was nevertheless specifically for you. It always is in our industry. The custom sizing only refers to price, not to the uniformity of the product. We are not Target. You cannot simply return an item. There are over 1,000 different combinations of sizes, finishes and drawer/door design profiles to choose from. I can't just simply resell what you retroactively decided against.
Furthermore, when you and I briefly spoke on the phone to discuss the next steps after you renegged on our agreement you said you were busy at work and would call me back that evening. I have tried calling and texting you multiple times since and you have screened everything.
With all that being said, I STILL issued you a full $2000 refund just to put this headache behind us, even though I'm going to be out thousands of dollars with specially ordered materials I won't be able to resell.
As thousands of happy customers throughout the Valley will attest, I take tremendous pride in the fact that we do things the right way. Our customers are our lifeblood, and I care deeply that everyone of them has nothing but the best experiences with us. I regret we couldn't do business together.
