Complaint Review: Desperados Mexican Restaurant

My friends and I have been going to this restaurant since it opened a few years ago. The food is fairly good (Mexican restaurants are hard to come by in Northern NY)...but the owner is a total jerk. One particular item that we like on the menu is the Mexican Roulette... consists of a jalapeno pepper, stuffed with cheese and shrimp, dipped in a batter and fried.

On occasion we've driven quite a distance to have this treat and we would also take a couple of orders "to go"...until the owner decided that we could not have it "to go" anymore. Why? Don't ask me...he told us he wanted to save it for his customers (hello...we are customers, stupid!). He has told us to call first to see if he has any (of course it's on the menu..DUH!), which we have done and still he won't let us have it to go..stupid huh? You would think he would put "no take out" on his menu!!!

He has repeatedly embarrassed us in front of other customers, complaining that we cannot have roulette to go...we got to the point where we did not enjoy going to this place anymore. The last time we went, we were told that they did have roulette, so we ordered our food, opting for soup first, then the roulette. When it came time for the roulette, the waitress came to our table and told us the they were out of it. We were so mad! I told the waitress that her boss was a jerk, which she in turn told to the boss. He then came storming over to our table and screamed at us for 10 minutes in front of the other customers.

One couple seated next to us got up and left without ordering. We've since learned how to make this treat ourselves and make it far better than they do! On his website he says "A favorite with the locals"...which is so NOT true..the locals hate him!! The owners name is Andy Quinn...he must be from Tupper Lake too...what a jerk.
