On 10/30/2011 I purchased 2 boxes of SPLAT Glow-in-the-Dark Temporary Hair Dye for my daughter for Halloween, color "Cosmic Pink" for $14.98, excluding tax. After applying product to my daughters' hair the color turned GREEN, not pink. After product failed I made numerous contacts via email to the company explaining what happened. I stated I wanted a refund and they told me to get a refund from the retailer, which I couldn't do since the product had been used up. They asked for a picture of my daughters' hair, a pic of the receipt, a pic of the box and tube it came in, and the lot numbers from the tubes. I sent them everything they asked for and in return they told me their chemist could not replicate the same problem in their lab, therefore they cannot issue me a refund. They then offered to send me any product of my choosing from their website so I chose the exact same product (Splat Glow-in-the-Dark Cosmic Pink), only to be told that they cannot send that to me since it was a "seasonal" item, even though it remains on their website and also the retailers' site where I purchased it. After 2 weeks of emailing back and forth I told them they are just giving me the run-around and realized that they never had any intentions of refunding me or replacing the product. They also added later that said product was a trend that didn't take and they wouldn't be selling it anymore, another excuse not to send me the product. When they told me to get reimbursed from the retailer they stated that they would then reimburse them. So if they can refund a retailer why then can't they refund a customer? The problem lies with the company that produced the product, not the retailer who sells it. I looked up the company through the BBB of California and lo and behold, they have 2 similar complaints against them, refusing refunds to these people also. In my opinion, this "multi-million dollar" company (stated on their website in the "About Us" tab) is unfair, misleading, deceptive and does not stand behind their product. It is obvious that this company doesn't have the consumers' best interest at heart, in fact all they care about is making the almighty dollar and to h**l with the customer.
