We bought a car and the dealer said if you buy now you win a free trip to vegas or a cruise to Mexico., so when we filled out the papers we had to pay a registation fee of $40.00 each for my wife and I.,then they will give you a certificate and you can book it. What a rip, you never can get a date. You get on line and they tell you to watch for the next time they will be posting it and then you get on then and the trip is always full. They have our money and we have been trying since we won this trip last november to book,This is a RIP if ever there was one.I will tell everyone I know not to ever do anything with a free anything attach to it.Never trust Vaction Celebration or Diamond getaway package trips

You just made this recent post to make this posting seem current.

1st... Travel America has been bought by a very reputable company since then with over 30 years in the incentive business

Secondly...you are posting smear material/slander on many other boards.

And what I said on others...

As you google Travel America you will find multiple derogatory posts dated 3/18/12 or 3/19/12 ...funny how these are the
same dates as this 'review' above was made.

Obviously this is how competition does there business these days...with slander.

Nice try... and I bet your company directs their 'potential clients' to this particular link, and others, where these bogus reviews are listed.  Hopefully no business person truly takes these threads as truth. It is clearly and truly lies and slander...and it's easy to recognize with a little further research.

You sound like an employee (Joel) that's trying to defend the company.

Very very suspicious.

I have had no problem with Travel America

I recently redeemed 2 nights at a Quality Inn in San Diego.  I just paid $35 dollars for taxes will the cost on Expedia if I did not get 2 free nights would of been more than $200.  Travel America has some great incentives but like all travel promotions, the benefits can take wild swings depending on market conditions.

From what I know all prices are negotiated between the the purchaser of the travel and Travel America.  Travel America does not set rates by themselves.  Actual rates for Travel can vary depending on market conditions.

One time I won 2 Roundtrip tickets on American Airlines.  I had to pay taxes based on the rack rate which was about $1,000 dollars each.  If I used them i would have to pay $300 dollars in income taxes per ticket! It was cheaper (at the time) to purchase the tickets for about $220 each online on Expedia since several airlines were offering deep discounts at the time.

I have used several Travel incentives from Casablanca Express, Holiday Travel of America and Travel America. I have learned that travel promotioms may not mimmic market conditions. Coupons from airlines and hotels may be worthless depending on what was discounted and the price it is discounted from, which is usully not the lowest rate.

The free market determines prices

Promotional trips typically have fixed expenses while the Free market can change prices subject to conditions and often have wild swings in prices.  It pays to reedem a trip when you will benefit from savings.
