I purchased a loose stone while on a Carnvial cruise. While on the cruise, these stores are heavily promoted and you are assured that these are guaranteed stores. Once I got home, I had the ring appraised as it looked like there was a problem with the corner (princess cut 0.70 H SI3). I was shocked to find out that the stone was neither the size or clarity that I thought 0.55 H I2). I called PPI and registered a claim, that was 7 mths ago.

DI refuses to offer a refund and after many many calls I received a replacement. Cautious I had the stone looked at and once again as it looked chipped it was not an SI3 but an I2. I have been now working to get a refund. Carnvial takes no responsibility and advised that I had to deal with PPI. If anyone has contact info for someone at DI to expedite this issue, please let me know. They do not return calls or emails.

The contact info I have is Isaac H., Hecht I believe, 800-515-3935 Ext. 1562. Please tell him Brian told you to call. But watch out. He is very skilled at implementing their "protocol" which is designed to tear down all your reasons for a refund and assure they keep all your money by giving you, at best, a store credit. He'll cite to the terms and conditions on the back of the receipt. If you got an appraisal it was not an independent lab. If they did not take the stone out, you could not get an accurate weight. If they did take the stone out, the ring was udulterated in violation of the terms and conditions. He has an answer for everything and so working with him will never lead you any where but into more frustration and despair. He told me he beats everybody-even the Attorney
General of the state of New York. The methodology you need to use can be found elswhere in these reports so you need to discover it and then be persistent.

As stated here on ROR
http://www.ripoffreport.com/reports/0/001/ripoff0001343.htm

BBB does not accurately post complaint records and does nothing to help consumers resolve disputes against DUES PAYING MEMBERS! The DUES money is far more important to the BBB then the consumers it is supposed to protect!

Should file a complaint with BBB

I just got back from a cruise that also promoted Diamonds International and their other stores. They are nothing but a scam, I got suspicious and managed not to get conned. However, I looked them up on the Better Business Bureau website and some of their stores are listed as "A" rated. Most are not accredited and no complaints are shown. If you really want to get to these people, file complaints against them. If more than one person is calling and investigating their business practices maybe they will shape up and make this right.
