On a recent visit to NYC, my wife and I wanted to purchase a Video camera so that we could have happy memories of New York City.

We were enticed into a camera store on Broadway (Digital Depot 1632 Broadway) and were sold an AUDIOVOX MPEG4 digital video camera with spare battery for $901.

When we got back home to Scotland we looked it up on the internet and were shocked to see the same model for sale in Macy's store for $189.

This is an absolute rip off.

#2Consumer Suggestion

Thu, June 23, 2005

As you now know, the world is chocked full of frauds and con men ready to pounce on any perceived disadvantage.

It's certainly a disadvantage to be out of your element. Foreign city. Tourist with a scottish accent.

Right now, cheap digital cameras start at less than $100. Not knowing that, you chose to rely on the word of a salesman. That's always a mistake.

This kind of thing always leaves the person more suspicious of situations in the future. Look at it as a learning experience. First time. Last time. Only time.
