If I could give a negative star rating I would. About a year ago I was rear ended in my Subaru which caused extensive damage. After it was repaired a contacted Ken Nix concerning a loss of value claim against State Farm. After agreeing to hire him, sending him payment for his charges, and providing information about the collision and photos of the car during the repair process, it still took months to actually get the estimate. This was after many unreturned phone calls and emails. The report looked impressive, but didn't really say much, looked like a pre-written form that he added some details too. State Farm promptly denied my claim. Ken referred me to an attorney to file a court claim for the loss of value. Even the attorney had a difficult time getting in touch with Ken. My case was referred to a mediator for a hearing. Ken agreed, at an additional cost, to provide testimony via phone as an expert witness. During the testimony, when asked about how he determined the loss of value and what his qualifications were, he kept referring to his "specialized skills". When asked questions he would give these long meandering answers that never did get to the point. He also claimed, that due to a computer glitch, he had lost the photos and some of the information that I had provided. During the hearing the opposing attorney and expert witness were trying hard not to laugh at Ken's testimony. The mediator was exasperated because it took Ken so long to answer a question. I ended up losing the case. I was out the fees that I had paid Ken for his services, or lack there of, plus I was charged about $1000.00 for the opposing sides attorney and expert witness fees. As a side note, early on I had referred a friend to Ken. After hiring him and paying his fee, she never heard from him again despite multiple phone calls. She was smart, she gave up and cut her losses

Update: 3/5/17

In December, after I had posted the above negative review, Mr. Nix contacted me and offered a refund of my fees that he had charged for the evaluation and then for being an expert witness. He explained that due to his company’s billing cycle that it would take 30-60 days before I would receive a check. In exchange I would delete my negative review. I agreed and took down the review. Now it’s 3/5 2017 and I have not received a check or heard a word from him. I can’t say I’m really surprised. Just reinforces what I, and others, have said about him as a person, and of the services that he offers.
