In July 2003 my husband and I went to purchase a dinette and chair set for arond $1300. We special ordered castor tilt chairs that did not come with the dining table we picked. We gave a check $450 for the deposit and was to pay the balance when the order arrived in six weeks.
We were notified the order was in and that they were no longer accepting checks and we had to bring in a cashiers check for the $726 balance. (We were originally told by "can't so wrong" Sue that because we were returning customers, paying with a check for the final order was fine.) I

went to pick it up and brought it home. When we removed the plastic bags from the chairs we realized that they were not the right chairs because there was no tilt. We immediately took the chairs back within an hour of picking it up. We were told to come back the next day to see the manager.

The next day the manager was not there so the assistant looked at the chairs and informed us that the chairs were incorrect and Patrick would be notified. When we heard from Patrick first he said the he had similar chairs that he could offer. When I went to look at and pick them up he said they were sold. I asked for a refund or the correct chairs be reordered and was told it would cost $800 more to reorder. I told him the was unacceptable and to refund me and he became nasty stating that we were given the right chairs and that the person - Sue- that we placed the order with would not make a mistake, we just changed our minds.

To make matters worse we had to put the table together and in doing so it was loopsided. My husband being an engineer and all knows how to balance a table. He said he would send someone out to look at and fix it- no one showed up and he wanted us to pay $60 for the visit. He later admitted to having problems with that table and would order the right parts and to date nothing.
We filed a complaint with the BBB and we are set to go to civil court for a refund or replacement of the WHOLE set. Meanwhile we still have this loopsided table - no replacement parts and no chairs.

To Whom It May Concern,
The above complaint comes from a person who special ordered a special style of chair and table,in a specific size, shape, color, fabric. All of these factors were verified with the customer at the time of purchase with a signed sales agreement.

the majority of our business are special orders and we are very meticulous about verifying all orders properly and then asking them to sign the sales agreement.
The order came in in a timely manor as quoted, the customer came in to pick up the merchandise INSPECTED IT! said "how beautiful it looked, and what great job they did",SIGNED RECEIVED IN GOOD CONDITION!!.
A little while later called and said she got the wrong style of chairs after her husband told her that they should have recieved another style.
She was informed that everything that was stated on the sales agreement at the time of purchase came in exactly as specified.as far as the table not sitting level we immediately ordered a new base from the MFR. on the husband/engineers recommendation of the so called problem.

Dinettes For Less tried every remedy to satisfy this customer as well as to order the chair they claimed they should have received.

there was absolutely no way of dealing with this customer rationally in the face of facts such as everything came in exactly as specified and there were no mistakes made on our part.
Many times
people dont remember what they ordered there are so many choices and when you look at so many different things people very often forget especially after 4-8weeks,in this case 8wks.
although usually its a first reaction, not after inspecting it, signing for it, and commenting how nice it looks, and then loading it up and taking it home!

To make a very long story short;
we refunded their money took back the merchandise, and incidentally the table had no problems whatsoever except for ink marks they had put on it after they stated they never used it.
you cant please everyone everytime, but some people cant be pleased no matter what you do.

We strive to provide quality products and service to all our customers,we dont switch anything or give defective mercahandise. all of our products have a manufacturers warranty against any defects in materials and wokmanshp[unless it is an as is or reduced closeout item etc...]so its not a burden to order any parts or replace any defective items.
