Three things this company did wrong:



Least Important

Did not repair my internet/satellite service at the time they allotted. I did not have internet for a week and a half, so I got off of work on a Friday: the only time they said they could help me.  The allotted time was 1pm-5pm.  I did not leave my apartment once.  When 5pm was nearing, I called the company, and they asked me to wait until 6pm.  6pm rolled around... I went out and bought a Wireless internet package from another company and cancelled my internet account.



NO Communication with their Partner Companies

I was moving out of my house in May of 2010, so I called up DirecPath to have my satellite account cancelled.  They are the only supplier of Direct TV in my neighborhood (a monopoly they have set up with my neighborhood). They told me that my account was terminated on May, 12th 2010 and that everything would be fine. At the end of June, Direct TV calls me and tells me that I owe them $204 and that the account for the apartment I no longer live at, was still active.



It Gets Worse

I call up Direct TV and have DirecPath on three-way.  Direct TV agrees to lower my bill to approximately $70. I believing that I owe nothing, try to get DirecPath to just give me my statement saying that they shut my account down or EVEN my billing history.  They refuse to give it to me, even after I complain to the another company, because they know that if they do, they will have to give Direct TV the money.



Bottomline

Cancel service accounts IN WRITING, CERTIFIED and REGISTERED MAIL. Copy the letter before you send it too. Do not deal with this company either. Their customer service was horrible, most of their representatives do not speak fluent English, and they withold your private information.
