A maintenance contract sold over the phone by Direct Energy claiming to provide service in four hour turnaround. My mistake to say proceed.

Direct Energy collects premium month after month for over two years in the name of "maintenance", "total protection TPP" etc.

One day, my furnace breaks down. I contact Direct Energy. The reply : "I am only taking messages. The best they can do is to send some one on Tuesday (I called on Saturday)".

Direct Energy fails to act in good faith. I asked for my premium paid in good faith. DE refuses and agrees to cancel the contract instead!

Three months later, I get an invoice for Heating and Cooling contract maintenance. When contacted better business bureau, I get a letter from
Ms. Mirabell Palma of Direct Energy: "Due a technical error your heating and cooling units were not cancelled at that time. We have taken all of the necessary actions to cancel the plans effective immediately.....". This company is a total disgrace. I will not be surprised if down the road they will send another invoice and blame it on their computers. Is the company a crook or just incompetent?

Direct Energy should be investigated for their dubious business preactices of soliciting over the phone for the so called maintenance contract. The contract appears to be one sided - DE collects money but provides service if and when possible !!
