direct express comerica bank $1400.00 fraudulently taken out of my acct Dec 2017 bank has yet to put back in my acct Dallas Texas

while I was in the hospital during the month of Dec. 2017, came home on Dec 31st to discover that from Dec, 28th to Dec, 31st someone went online using my Direct Express acct, went to several different places throughout the United States and bought various and sundry items having same shipped to an address here in Chicago. The amount taken from my acct came to about $1400.00 which wiped out my funds. The night of my return from the hospital I discovered the fraudulent transactions and immediately reported the problem to the customer service dept at Direct Express. I paid $17.50 for a replacement & speedy delivery of a new card. I reported the theft to the Financial Fraud Division of the Chicago Police Dept. I filled out all paperwork sent to me by Direct Express and returned same. Since that time which encompasses approximately 9 &1/2 mos.,

I've heard exactly nothing from Direct Express. Something is not right here.....this acct was set up for seniors by Society Security so that their federal monies could be deposited using this acct as a debit acct since paper checks are no longer issued. Several other discrepancies have caught my attention and I have decided to do an audit from 2016 to date as I firmly believe someone is using my acct as their own. I also have three other fraudulent transactions on my acct at the onset of 2016 which was about $400. Now this one they did tell me that even though I was in the hospital with pneumonia, I had bypassed my required time to send my paperwork back in [by just hours] I would not get my money returned. This company is just insane. I was just able to get my Illinois ID a couple of days ago and as soon as I can before my 5th operation next month....I'm getting a bank acct here in Chicago. I am 77yrs old and disabled but I'm going to try everything to put a stop to this company.
