Hello Customers,

I am very upset with Direct General Auto Insurance because I paid the down payment $255 on Oct 5th, 2012 and I find it fishy so I researched about the insurance so I look for another insurance to switch.

I switched to Geico and requested the refunded, at the customer service on the phone were told me to go to the office to sign the paper to released the insurance and confirmed to be cancel on Oct 26th, 2012.

I give them few weeks later to process through the cancellation, however, I called to check the status of refund.  They wasn't sure how much but possible not to able to refund since there were no reason why I cancelled.

I told them that the lady at the office did not tell me to write down the reason why I cancelled so they gave me a hard time so I have to scan the current insurance and my own statement and email to the agent,  (I am deaf so we communicate through email).

The agent said I am now able to get refund, I was exciting to have some money back and I ask them how much will I get it back, still not sure.

So,  today, November 23rd, 2012,  I got the refund and I got $133.43 back... what?  Are they messing with me?

I call the customer service and they transfer me to fiance department, they keep adding more charges to explain me a reason why.  They said that I didn't meet 60 days to cancel and I was cancelling too early.  I told them that I didn't know that there were so many fees as the website and agent on the phone did NOT tell me about the charges for cancellation fees.

I, honestly, don't know why they need profit from us, there are too many customers are currently use their insurance?

This is a rip off, I suggest you not to seek in their insurance.  It may be so cheap to insured but they are ripping you off.  Wish you a luck.
