Direct General Insurance Charged extra for my one year old daughter to NOT be on the policy! Panama City Florida

My fiancé signed up for Direct Auto Insurance in May and every week we received a letter stating that they needed something from us.  First when we signed up they made us pay over $300 dollars.  Us being young thought this was normal. The next week we received a letter saying that they needed proof of his address.  We sent them a copy of our lease since we had just moved into our new home and had nothing else with the current address on it.  A week later received another letter stating that his rate would be increasing because my daughter and myself needed to be added, and if we did not want to be added we needed to fill out an exclusion form.  We filled out the exclusion form seeings as how I had my own auto insurance and our daughter is only one. Last time I checked one year olds are not capable of driving. The next week I got a letter stating that they never received our exclusion form, so our rate jumped 60 dollars. I called them and they assured me it would be fixed.  A week went by again and I got yet another letter telling me our policy was now 50 dollars more than we had originally been told. When called to ask why, the lady informed me that it was a state law that everyone in your household must be on your insurance or you have to pay an "exclusion surcharge" I asked to speak to the supervisor and had to wait over an hour. When I finally spoke to her, she, after arguing with me, told me they would do me a favor and take my daughter off. Remind you now, she's 1! The policy was still 40 dollars more than our original cost. Moral of the story is Direct will bait you with a low price and come up with every way possible to add charges to your account. Switched to Geico and couldn't be happier. They even have us A cheaper rate! Direct Auto Insurance is nothing but crooked thieves!
